Totally agree. Can't stand this fake lets all get along b/c we're different from other sports. We're gentlemen! It serves no purpose

Sergio had the honors to start the 3rd round so he was technically first in since he teed off first.

Yeah I discovered that. So if it was a tie for 2nd place...would this apply as well?? I guess this just means players w/ the honours in the group will always go out later in the event of a tie w/ players in the same group.

Gotta have some way to sort it, is better to go by better 3rd round than better 2nd round or whatever. Should Castro get to tee off last tomorrow amongst all those he is tied with simply because he played better three days prior? I think not.

BO
Except when you play in the same group....lolpga

I am surprised you guys are so negative towards Garcia. Tiger isnt really the happiest and most respectful player on the tour. You guys are obviously biased because he's american.

I don't believe that someone who goes on record claiming that the USGA would have stopped play at the '02 US Open if Tiger was on the course, deserves any benefit of the doubt.

The guy's a gigantic douchenozzle. You don't become a professional athlete to meet "nice people". Wrong ****ing vocation!

It is a huge advantage for Sergio to be playing behind Tiger in the final pairing. Some Golf Channel analyst just said how it is bad. There are going to be basically no distractions back there because people are always going to be a half a hole to a hole ahead of Tiger if they are not just straight following him. There will be no one following that final group to provide distractions imo.

lol

Momentum has been shown, time and time again, to statistically not exist in sports. Especially in golf, you of all people should know that golfers can and often do shoot vastly different scores in consecutive days. In actual legitimate non-BO's-mind theory, it it shouldn't make any difference when they tee off.

I do agree that the first-in-last-out rule is clunky and weird though, but not enough to complain about it or argue that it should be changed

Pretty sick that Sergio, Lingmerth, and Stenson all managed to avoid being paired with Tiger though. That's gotta be slightly -EV for Tiger's chances and +EV for all of them, especially Sergio

according to espn.com highlights tiger was in the pine straw and couldn't see sergio in the first place. additionally, the crowd started cheering before sergio started his swing so uh sergio wasn't obligated to swing at that ball right then. grunch.

also now that i'm done white knighting for tiger, i like the fact that sergio spoke his mind. A lot of people probably don't like each other on tour but never say it for PR reasons.

LOL no, there will be thousands of people running to the next hole rather than being still when his group is playing. All the noise and cheers are still audible to the group behind. Group in front of Tiger and behind Tiger are just as bad or worse than being in the same group.

I agree, everyone on tour is too nice. This will come up at the next Ryder Cup which is great. Hopefully we get Sergio\Tiger, McIlroy\Horschel etc.

The biggest LOL is that guy on the golf channel saying it is bad for the game for them to make those comments somehow unaware of the irony that it is his employer who is making the mountain out of the molehill spending hours talking about the comments and that one specific shot rather than the play on the course.

No, it is way worse being in the group in front of Tiger because everyone is rushing up to get a good spot to see Tiger come up on that hole. Being behind him is way more +ev than in front of him.

I like how Kelly Tilgman this morning was like "Lost in all this is the fact that (I forget what she said but something about some no-name playing well). Understandable, due to the excess media coverage the Tiger-Sergio thing is getting."

THAT IS YOUR CHANNEL YOU DUMB BROAD. YOU AND ALL YOUR CO-WORKERS ARE THE ONES BEING PAID TO RAMBLE ON ABOUT IT.

lol @ saying "lost in all this" as if they have no prior control over that.

Reminds me of back in 2003 when ESPN's Baseball Tonight waited until half-way through the baseball season to soapbox about Dontrelle Willis finally and proclaim "it's about time this kid got some media coverage." BASEBALL TONIGHT COVERS BASEBALL YOU DUMB PIECES OF ****.

Sergio really is a whiny bitch. He wants to be pals with Tiger. Everyone wants to be associated with Tiger (buddies, if possible). People want to hang out with winners. Fans, 'net posters, the media, other players, etc. Sergio is butthurt that him and Tiger aren't besties. Feherty recently asked him about him and Tiger's relationship dating back to years ago, and Sergio was like (paraphrase) "I thought we could be friends and I wish we would have been but it just never really happened."

Basically, Sergio is a puppy dog following around a Great Dane and can't figure out why the Great Dane doesn't give a flying **** about him.

People also rush to their next spot ignoring the other groups after Tiger hits his shot or putts out

That's what I just said....so therefore no one would be there for the group behind because they are either rushing ahead or with Tiger's group...
