Oh look at Brandel grandstanding about dark-skinned Vijay's lawsuit.

LOL @ people who don't think this guy is a racist pig. He's chewing him up and spitting him out - just like he does with Tiger.

Get this guy off TV. It's embarassing.

Is his lawsuit ridiculous? Probably. Is it entirely in his right to bring forth a lawsuit? Yes. Moving on. No wait let's bash the guy apart because he's not a WASP.

If I read the Politics Forum, I'd expect to hear people injecting racism into every discussion. In the Golf Forum, I neither expect it nor do I see a need for it.

A-Rod, constantly screaming about racism and calling posters/commentators racist in the PGA Tour Discussion Thread is tiresome and out of place.

I kind of remember this now. He went from being pudgy to being super fit - not sure if that directly aligned with his run to world #1, I think it actually messed up his swing and hurt his game a bit - and the fitness coupled with being a range rat just sounds really exhausting. Some people are all or nothing types, and he probably just burned out once he got to the top. Can't hardly blame him, different strokes etc. Seems to have kind of a Jake Plummer outlook on life.

Unfortunately, being a dirty hippie doesn't pay all that well so I guess that's why he continues to ply his trade, albeit at a much lower level than before. His 2009 run at Bethpage was pretty epic and I really wanted to see him pull it out. Instead we got Lucas Glover. Seems like a nice guy but zzzzZZZZZzzzzZZZZZ....

I like to pretend there were no majors in 2009. Cabrera over Perry (Masters), Glover over Duval & Mickelson (U.S. Open), Cink over Watson (British), Yang over Tiger (PGA). It's hard to believe just how close we were to the single greatest year in golf ever... IMO. And the chasm between what could have been vs. what actually happened... almost unimaginable.

It did lead to probably the single worst PGA Grand Slam of Golf.

I agree about the first three. Perry, Mickelson/Duval and Watson would have been incredible. However, the PGA was AWESOME and went at least partway to offsetting the suck of the others. For me anyway.

I remember Duval making 6 or 7 at a par 3 on the front that day after his tee shot hit a sprinkler head. I remember thinking ''gg DD, thanks for the week.'' But he kept grinding and was brillant down the stretch.

I can't recall a single post you've ever made that wasn't telling someone else how to post. But fine I'll drop it. I've said my peace.

Looking forward to watching this tomorrow. Not sure who I'm pulling for yet. Though I'm always rooting for Dufner and it would also be cool to see Rory come "back" and destroy the field by like 5 strokes.

He is right though if it gets to trial the past will be brought up. I for one had no clue Vijay was banned from the Asian Tour for cheating.

Looking also forward to the players Go Rory

I think I remember hearing this. That would royally suck to dedicate years of your life to achieving a goal, then you do it and find out it wasn't what you thought.

What do you mean "if it goes to trial"? Brandel brought the Asian tour thing up tonight. He's already dragging Vijay's name through the mud. Why? Vijay is within his right to generate a suit, silly as it may be. And lol @ citing how much money he's made from the tour - like that means you just can't sue them.

DD's was more like a shooting star, absolutely brilliant for a short stretch but that was it. Monty was good for a really long time, absolutely owned the European Tour for most of the 90s, and didn't win over here because he rarely played over here.

And of course most notably he was the STONE COLD NUTS in the Ryder Cup, probably the single best player for either team since it got competitive the past thirty years. Call him a choker in majors - which aside from 2006 isn't really fair anyway, Els simply barely outplayed him in 1993 and 1997 - but he stepped up big on a stage every bit as pressure packed as any major, and he did it over and over again.

Great for TV too. I hope he continues with his broadcast career.
fair enough. but Monty didn't win ANYTHING stateside. that's pretty telling. He dominated weak fields( Euro). yes he had a good run in the Ryder cup. his record may be better then DD. but the simple question of who was better? who shot 59, won a major and challenged Tiger ( somewhat) not Colin. Colin big fish small pond.

LOL Colin played AAA golf. when he played major golf he was crushed or choked. love the guy, but seriously he was a fairways and greens guy. He was considered but never feared. Watched him for years, great par player. which wins on the Euro tour. stateside, make some birdies. could have won the U.S. Open, but simply could not hole enough 12 footers.

it was a 6 on number 3 (a par 3, as you said):

[url]http://sports.yahoo.com/golf/pga/players/David+Duval/12/scorecard/2009/24[/url

however, if my memory serves me, didn't he get a bad break on number 3 when his tee shot lodged deeply into the sand just below the lip of a greenside bunker?

I agree with you how much money the game has generated him has nothing to do with it. Brandell had every right to bring up the Asian thing. Sometimes the agents and lawyers of pro athletes give them horrible advice. Also Vijay should do an interview and get in front of this. Maybe there is more to it

Sick Roberto Castro story...

A couple years ago when dagolfdoc first got TrackMan we were helping out a high school kid who wanted to get serious with golf.

We put him through a TrackMan Combine and his wedge play was abysmal. We told him that had to improve dramatically. Roberto was practicing so dagolfdoc called him over and was like...

"hey Roberto, can you hit one shot for us? "

Roberto said sure.

Doc-"I just want you to hit one 70 yards"

Roberto just chuckled, "fly it 70 yards?"

Doc- "yep"

Roberto took 1 little practice swing, then stepped up in front of TrackMan and I'll be damned if that mf'er didn't hit it 70.1 yards.

The high schooler's jaw hit the floor. It was pretty ****in impressive.
