Just came back from Quail Hollow, honestly I think it's been overstated in general. Don't get me wrong there are some bad greens, 13 and 9 come to mind, they look worse than a muni (saw Steve Marino sink a chip across the green on 13 though, he seems to not care). Then there are a few that are a bit bumpy but honestly not terrible. Rest are pretty decent, they are rolling well. For all the talk about the re-sodding, I thought 8 honestly rolled the best out of all the greens I saw today. Saw Bud Cauley knock a 20 footer in on 8 that was nothing but pure, roll was absolutely beautiful. You can see the seems from the re-sodding it's extremely apparent, but it still rolls well. Didn't check out the 10th green to get an idea of how the re-sodding went on that.
Granted I am an 18 hdcper not used to tournament style greens, so of course my assessments can be off. One thing I will say was consistent throughout my time there was players leaving it short; it was rare to see someone putting past the hole.
Also pretty surreal moment, was walking on 18 with my dad and we see Faldo going by us with his cart. It was weird because I looked at him for a good 5 seconds before I was like "**** is that Faldo?", he looked like a tournament official. Looked kinda like he was in a pissy mood, didn't say anything to anyone or even acknowledge them, can't really blame him I guess.
