You guys wanna know whats sad? Books have Tiger at 3.5 to 1 to still win this golf tournament only behind rose who is a 3 to 1 with a 4 shot lead over Tiger. Just goes to show you how good the GOAT really is

Good news, Mike Weir made the cut.

Bad news, he WD'd after 11 holes today with a rib injury.

He has shown signs of life this year, would be cool if played well at The Masters but I just think the course is too much for him these days.

Regarding Fowler's shot from the hazard.....how deep can you set your club in the grass before its considered grounded? Announcers said he wasn't allowed to touch the grass but he was a few inches down in it.

Not a rules nit, just wondering what the rule actually is.

I didn't think you could even touch the grass. Maybe you just can't ground the club (ie touch the dirt?) Dunno.

'Note: At any time, including at address or in the backward movement for the stroke, the player may touch, with a club or otherwise, any obstruction, any construction declared by the Committee to be an integral part of the course or any grass, bush, tree or other growing thing.'

Part of rule 13.4 R&A. I remember Tiger touching the grass several years ago at Sawgrass 17th I think and this came up then. You just can't ground your club.

It's infuriating how every time Tiger hits it way oob you see he suddenly, inexplicably, has a clear shot.

Every time I hit it by the trees the ball is within 1 foot of a tree trunk. I don't have fanboiz with happy feet though.
