I'm getting excited about the Masters. Watched a youtube flyover of the course the other day. Love how immaculate it is. I'm trying to bring my front yard up to Augusta standards. My backyard is AIDS and has US Open rough.

Front yard might start looking pretty elite though, maybe I'll post pictures in the Masters thread. I take a scissors and cut blades of grass along the driveway and sidewalk. I've also got a city water box and electrical box in the ground out by the street that I hand cut the blades of grass around to look all clean - similar to sprinkler heads near the green. It's pretty obsessive but whatever. I love having a nice yard. The yard is small so it's not too difficult to maintain it at a high level.

If I can get it up to high standards I'll take pics and post them around that time. I just went out there this week to work on it for the first time since the fall. The grass is all dried out and brown right now. Laid down some spectracide and summerguard turf builder pellets. Still want to throw some of the chunky brown turf builder down and give my tree some tree steroids. Need to re-mulch. And clover grass took over about 15 square feet of my yard. Not sure what that's all about.

They talk about their show like it cures cancer or something. I think they should be a little more dramatic about it.

To get back on topic, Michael Thompson just drained an eagle to take a 3-shot lead.

Golf Channel going to just broadcast the Bear Trap while NBC broadcast goes on.

Last night they were showing highlights from the tourney on Canada's Sport Centre. First part of it was Tiger Highlights when the guy is 40th. I know this isn't Tigers fault but give me a break. I give him credit for grinding it out last two days. Would have been easy to blow a shot and miss the cut were he was.

To the point that there is not any discussion. Yeah Tiger is not in contention, but neither is anyone else. Probably the closest known name(s) right now on the leaderboard are Oglivy, Westwood, and Bradley (with all of them having a combined 2 majors to their credit and they are all at least 3 shots off the lead). When none of the casual watchers know who is playing, they do not care to watch.

Also having the course playing very difficult with the wind and cool weather (61 Degrees, ha that's polo and shorts weather up here in MN) is not helping as well. People watch golf to see birdies and great shots, they don't like watching guys grinding out pars. The only time they do is for the U.S. Open for obvious reasons.

Poor Delaet, making it rain out there.

I always prefer tournaments that turns into grind mode FTW. Would rather watch this then guys flipping wedges to 10 feet all day and putting on super flat greens AKA Bob Hope.

Thompson bored us to death with one up and down and two putt par after the next. Good for him but bad for TV.

Good for Thompson. Guy played great down the stretch at last year's US Open too. He's got a big boy short game.

Also, lots of overserved people out there today. I really wish they would start ejecting people for yelling stupid things, or maybe they are. And yelling before the player has struck the ball should be a lifetime ban.

They definitely gave him a how did your first top ten feel interview after the round. Compton said he had a mudball on 18 that sliced 50+ yards to just go in the water. Otherwise probably would have tied Guthrie or at least had solo 4th

I can't believe that dude is out there with a resting heart rate of like 120 bpm. That is absolutely insane. I don't know how he does it but I guess when you feel like you are freerolling life nothing gets to you anymore.
