MOE NORMAN ALERT MOE NORMAN ALERT

Bryson Dechambeau is one of the top amateur in the world at the moment. Has a game inspired by the golfing machine. Has the same length shaft on all his shafts. Check him out.

If kid wins U.S. Junior Am final today he gets a prom date with Holly Sonders. If I was him I'd be hiring Tonya Harding to take out my opponent and seal the deal.

He caddied for the winner last year, would be pretty sick if he helped another kid to the win as well.

Holly's way closer in age to that kid than her husband. The kid might actually get to plow.

If he does he'll be well on his way to becoming the next Tiger Woods.

This has to be huge for Dawson, I imagine he didn't have much status on champions tour. Does this win change that or no because it was overseas?

interesting situation on the canadian tour...

adam svenson who is an amazing young player from vancouver, bc. he played at a small college in miami. not sure why he didn't go to major school

anyway, he's in 2nd place this week. with a very good finish (probably 3rd or better. i would think def. 2nd or better) i think he'll have his web.com card for next year.

but for some reason adam gets into alot of web.com tourneys.... he seems to be a big sponsor's exemption guy although i have no idea why that would be....

anyway, he's had reasonable success on web.com this year already. so if he does well in canada, i think he may give up the canadian tour to large degree this year and try to play alot of web.com events (get into one, play well to get into next week's).

i wonder if anyone has ever qualified for web.com and pga tour in same year?

he is unfortunately through more holes today than the other players and of course the course plays way under par so probably will end up 5th or something.

OK, can't figure something out regarding the web.com tour and it's really pissing me off. They cut to the low 60 and ties, this week exactly 60 players shot -7 or better, -6 is T61. Yet the -6's got in. Doesn't look like any amateurs made the cut either. Couple of weeks ago in Boise the exact same thing happened, exactly 60 pros at -7 or better, yet the -6's got in.

So what gives?

Two days of stroke play, starting today, will set the field for Wednesday's round of 64 match play. Ship_this will be on the bag for Zalatoris again (made Sweet 16 last year I think) starting at 1:30 Central. I think Ship also tweeted out he has 10 others in the field that have attended his seminars on course management.

Television starts on Wednesday on FS1 at 3.

Stroke play can be followed via the USGA site

Good luck guys.

Holly Sonders interviewing the U.S. am match winners on FS1. Poor kids, Paul Dunne having serious difficulty looking her in the eyes.

oops, turns out my local kid with the great exemption for first 4 events on web.com tour earned from top 5 placing in china hasn't worked out...

not exactly sure if oversold, he didn't do homework or things changed.

i would seriously think that you would look very heavily into these things before making plans i.e. see the exact order of exemption for events.

apparently fewer events (???) this year on web.com and more guys moonlighting from pga tour (phoenix field a bit smaller than previous years so guys jump down).... note that this is just what i read in the newspaper. these aren't my own facts.

so a bit disappointing. he's not sure if he'll get into one event ........ but if i was even contemplating playing on say the canadian tour (1 good spot, 4 moderate spots on web.com and then a bunch of very conditional spots) i'd sure want to see exact what those top 5 spots gave me i.e. get out all the documentation. and then do things change anyway (i.e. some higher categories are somewhat open-ended??) so you can never really be sure

maybe they should have some lower $$$$$ web.com events that guarantee that everyone who got some sort of minimal conditional spot gets to play in an event or two. and those results would count towards getting on web.com next year, getting in some more events the current year but not promotion to pga the following year

another guy near here got some sort of web.com (nationwide? or successor?) status and then only got into 1 or 2 main tourneys and that was through monday qualifying anyway.

anyway, there's the article. educational for anyone who is looking to try professional golf.
