75 round 1 - not totally out of it but it looks like the cut will be -2 so we’ll need a low on this afternoon.

Ball striking pretty solid especially off the tee. Just a little lack of trust in some of his elevation adjusted yardages as it’s his first time playing in Colorado or anywhere at elevation. Putting has been hit or miss - made a few great par saves in round 1 and on bomb for birdie but unfortunately a few 3 putts as well.

If the guy has only played at sea level that has to be tough to make those adjustments on the fly, given the level of play required to make the cut.

Watching the Seniors roast in Omaha, looks absolutely brutal out there.

Even par round 2 to finish 4 off the cut of -1. Super solid week for an amateur. Lots to build on and I was impressed by his game, golf IQ and attitude. He got the right amount of pissed off by bogies but didn’t let it impact the next hole. Likewise had the right amount of aggression but didn’t play recklessly - lots of middle of the green shots and playing front edges plus a few yards to let the ball release.

We got a favorable wind on the 3rd hole and he was able to drive the 395y par 4 (~330 “as the crow flies”) and had 20 feet for eagle (missed but nice to tap in a birdie). Nothing worse than bogie and made 5 birdies over two rounds.

Super fun for my second time caddying in this event - I felt more comfortable and knew where to be and not be etc. would recommend anyone who lives near a KF event look into going or trying to volunteer or caddie or something - great way to get up close to some really high level golf with almost no crowds

How is arguably the best female golfer ever (certainly top few) playing in the Tahoe celeb event? Weird. Can she cash a check?

she has a house at Lake Tahoe, and she can easily get in to a 'competitive' tourney a few weeks before she plays in the US Senior Open. why not?

no fooling. five people finished under par, and her -12 was more strokes under than the total of the other four women combined (-11). the difference between first and second (8 strokes) was the same as the difference between second and sixteenth.

Heck seems to have what it takes to be a force for many years to come.

speaking of being a force: Mickey Wright has 82 LPGA wins (2nd all time) and 13 major wins (2nd all time), and is the only LPGA player to hold all four major titles at the same time.
she 'retired' at age 34 due to foot problems. who knows what her totals would have been if she could have played ten more years.

Was watching champ match just now and I was on tilt seeing the American throw grass up 5 times before hitting her 3 wood off the tee on a 425y hole.

that's her routine. she does it on nearly every shot.

her weakness is chipping.

looking forward to this upcoming week and Oakmont C.C.

Cole Sherwood done with 36 holes at the US Am at -3 currently T14. Everybody in front of him except one player still has to play at least 16 holes at Oakmont. He very well might end up top 3 by end of day.

T-9 ain't too shabby? Should I be familiar with this name ntnBO?

Two Tar Heels made match-play: Ryan Gerard and Austin Greaser (who is our #1).

edit: a 12-for-1 playoff being played now. Nicholas Dunlap (this year's U.S. Jr. Am winner), and Canadian Garrett Rank are two of the notables in the dozen playing off for one spot.

Yesterday’s rain probably made the scoring a bit better than expected. That place is just hard hard

saw a USGA article who quoted a golfer saying he always wondered why pros took forever over 5' putts at USOs he's watched being played at Oakmont. after the practice round he said he gets it now.

Oakmont C.C. GOAT USO site for me.

Not that I know of, just noticed he was already in with everybody in front except one still to play Oakmont.

Afternoon wave got super lucky with first the rain, and then getting to play most of their holes this morning. In essence they had two morning times. Would think at least two-thirds of the match play field came from that wave.

coverage about to start on Peacock, but it looks like the course has been in a weather delay for over 2 hours (the playoff hasn't even begun).
