went down to watch Chris Baker Saturday and Sunday. Just needed T10 2 ways to lock it up and had 2 shot lead going into Saturday. Couldn't make a putt Saturday. Changed putters Sunday and got hot with his irons holes 7-9 and ended up being a couple shots clear coming into 17 where he made double bogey with a 3 wack. Hit fairway wood off the tee on the tough 18 and found fairway bunker. Had 193 into the wind to the green with water just right and nutted a 6 iron to 25 feet. Amazing shot given the circumstances. Left that putt 6 feet short though but rolled in the 6 footer which at the time we thought he needed but a few guys bogied late making -12 good enough for him.
I got interviewed for the Quest for the Card documentary series so hopefully don't look like a moron.

Cool!

KF end of the regular season and finals always deliver the drama. Good stories and it's great to learn about guys to root for this coming year on the PGA Tour.

Yeah two guys were tied for 24 than if the guy that had his cards locked up birdies 18 than the guy in 26 th goes to 24 th and the other two tie for 25th both getting their cards.
Guy hits an amazing approach for 6 ft for a birdie and misses. The one guy misses his card by .5 points

World Long Drive on golf channel last night with the finals tonight. Always fun to watch these. It would be cool if they shared their club setup though.

Didn't one guy hit over 450? OR did I see that another night

Yeah, would be fun.

I would actually love to hit a 5* driver with a 48" shaft to see how difficult it is.

thought i posted this here or in another thread but don't see it..

i see scott fawcett finished 7th or so (top 30 qualify) in korn ferry pre-qualifying.... i thought pre-qualifying would be simple but it looks like if you weren't a member of a pga golf tour (china, canada, korn ferry, latinA etc.) in 2019 then you have to pre-qualify.

a couple of other canadian notes,

taylor pendrith, a great canadian prospect who has had some injury troubles recently, shot 62 back to back in montreal. 2 shots and 3 shots clear of the field in the 2 rounds.

a semi-retired young LPGA canadian woman missed the cut by one in montreal. pretty impressive as cut was -2 and course scorecard looks full length mens.

Our man Ship made the match play for the US Mid Am. I've been volunteering to work the tournament as a walking forecaddie. Hopefully I draw his group tomorrow.

Scott is 1 down with 7 to play... took a double on a 302 yard par 4 where the other guy won with a bogey. He was 1 up through 6.

I was lucky enough to play in the US Mid Am this year, was a fun experience. Colorado Golf Club was super punishing for my suspect ball striking. They made some fun changes to CommonGround, and got both courses in excellent shape.

Enjoyed hitting brand new pro v1s on the practice ranges, and hopefully can play better next year.

Got a few friends in match play I'm pulling for. CGC is an awesome match play course.

Thanks.

My buddy won today. I'm surprised the USGA didn't pick up on his finish yesterday. He was +6 going into 18 at Commonground (590 uphill par 5, played #1 easiest hole all week). He hooked it left into heavy fescue, and as the USGA official calls time on searching, he is identifying his ball. USGA guy says "I called time", he says he had already found his ball. USGA guy allows it. He hacks out to 120, and slam dunks a gap wedge for eagle to qualify at +4, missing the 18 for 6 playoff at +5.

We had to wait for a while in the fairway on our last hole as they recut the cup.

Congrats! CGC seems like a brutal course. I'm scared to think of what I would shoot on it.

What did they change at Commonground? I was surprised at how high the scoring was there. In CGA Fourball's guys have gone deep, but it didn't seem like anyone did that. I heard the pin locations were super tough.

They used the back tee on 16 for the tee on hole 8, which turned that from a 330 par 4, to 425 or something... actually an awesome change. They then added a back tee that opened 2 weeks ago on 9, that adds another 40 or so yards. It's behind the back tee on 11, which they moved up one tee box and made a par 4. So it's a par 70 with an extra 200 yards over where you'd normally see it. They used the back tee on 3, 4, and 5, as well as the back tee on 13 which makes it ~465.

I thought they actually set up the pins a fair bit more fairly than they did for the US Open local qualifier the last 2 years.

I've played it like 30 times, so I'm comfortable. I shot a 73 and only hit 8 greens... There was definitely a 65 out there if you hit it better than a 10 handicapper. Greens were the best I've ever seen them out there. I easily made 100 feet of putts.

CGC was set up like a US Open.

edit: Also bent my 60 giving it a quick grip slam in a moment of frustration, so I had to chip with my 54 on the last 6 holes... and I chipped on every one of them. That was a fun adjustment.

I forecaddied for the Kittleson / Ehrgott match today. Kittleson went 4 up thru 5. Then the match ended up even when Ehrgott hit it to ~20 feet on 15 from like 300 yards (he was all the way on top of the hill). Kittleson won 17 to go to the last 1 up. On 18 he hit a good approach that looked like it would end up about 25-30 feet, but it didn't quite make it over a slope and it rolled down to the front of the green and ended up ~60 feet away. He left the first putt 3 feet short, and then hit the left lip with the second after Ehrgott made a good up and down. On the 1st playoff hole Kittleson hit one left and ended up in a bush. He hit a great 3rd after taking an unplayable and had a short putt for par, but Ehrgott made a 12-15 footer to birdie. It was soul crush for Kittleson. I hated having to show him his ball was in a bush... It was a crazy match.

I did get to watch Ship tee off 1 but that was it. He seemed pretty chill. I think I was more nervous than he was.

For those wanting their golf fix there was 5 hours of prime time coverage of the Aussie Open last night. Assume it will be the same the next few nights as well.

korn ferry final stage starts thurday the 12th (i think).

key spots are 1st, 10th, 40th (and includes ties)....... i see conflicting evidence as to number of tourneys the 10th and 40th players get. either 4 and 8 or 8 and 12 (then they re-rank the players)

name players playing: summerhays, ernst, gainey, levine, schniederjans (yikes), chase koepka, pillar, a gonzalez.

players i will be following (some sort of tournament relationship... caddy with/for, course marshall etc.,... mike weaver is just from here but the rest from the canadian tour): trimble, lorens chan, mcdonald (canada), mike weaver, zach wright, curtis thompson (lexi's bro, and another brother is playing too), niebruge, pendrith, sigg.

i have a question about re-shuffle..... so you get the first 4 tourneys, you don't win any $$$, you are dropped in shuffle

1) who takes your place? (assuming first shuffle).... #41, #42 etc.?. lesser exemptions from other tours?

2) can you make it back to tourneys that year? without monday qualifying and/or sponsors invite etc.

haven't followed web.com players in the past, it doesn't seem like the bar is very high for staying in the rotation
