If there is no significant prizes/money then few teams cheat. If there are significant prizes/money then I'd say about 80% of the teams that place cheated and over 90% of winning teams. Most teams don't cheat but those teams almost never win either.

wtf can I even play in for this? I guess I could find a local public course and join some amatuer members thing much like how Philly has the GAP (Golf Association of Philadelphia), but nothing is going to be running in Ohio through the winter. I guess I could sign up for the OH State Open but who knows if I'll get that complete in time for any of the next year's USGA events. Hmmmm...

My golfing friends: Sorry to interrupt but I hate this game and everything it stands for and by extension I hate all of you but I was hoping for one quick favor before I decide to burn it to the ground!

Every day I go to the course I don't know if I'm going to hit the ball really well or have a terrible case of the shanks. It's something different every day. And I have no idea what it is. In my thread here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/93.../#post22254164

the last two posts are videos. One was yesterday when I hit the ball well. Today I shanked everything. WHY AM I DOING THIS. thanks!

It's kinda weak to laugh at him. At least he tried, and at least he was honest about his results.

props for trying, i'm going to try some usga events in the next year or so if i have time and wouldn't be stunned if it's a rude awakening at first but c'est la vie!

I shot a 94. He wasn't laughing at my misfortune, and I don't think he's laughing at my poor round...it's something more intricate than that. I think he's laughing for the same reason I'm laughing and I'm not sure I can explain it at all. Thanks for defending me though <3

lady at my club just won the us women's senior am. She & my wife used to be arch enemies. They got over it though. I played with them once and I shot a 73 and beat them both handily, so lol golf.

Meh, club championship/city golf championship/texas womens open/the other texas womens open...what are you gonna do? She just turned 50 anyway and she hits the ball probably farther than me. Now, there's your beat.

I don't think it's insulting for a friend to laugh at you about this. Obviously it's an unusually high score that's hard to explain and what else can you do but laugh about it?

Also it's good to know the loft on that 7 iron. My old set had a 36 degree 7 iron and my new set is 32 degrees. The first couple rounds were filled with WTF moments as all my iron shots just went ridiculously far compared to what I was used to.
