Went to a simulator place today that has two bays with a curtain that separates them. I hit the curtain on a follow thru. My buddy hit it on his backswing. And when we weren't hitting it I'm sure we were missing it by a millimeter.

And we almost got taken out by a ball from the other bay that snuck past the curtain.

Never going there again.

Playing 10 shots better in competition is absolutely nuts. There is a guy at my course who is a notorious sandbagger and everyone hates him except for like 1 or 2 people. I've never played with him and he's in a different flight than me so I've been pretty indifferent to him. 2 years ago my former neighbor took issue with him and they almost got in a fist fight in the clubhouse. I just can't imagine hanging out at a place where everyone hated me because I was a cheater, and then just continuing to hang out there and cheat like crazy.

How much space from the hitting area to the curtain? Has to be less than 7 feet if multiple players are hitting it with a club.

I don't know. When you're swinging it runs the length behind you. It is TIGHT.

Here's a funny review. Dylan is 100% correct but apparently the wrong guy to complain

Dylan- according to your history with us, youve made twelve different reservations using a fraudulent credit card and no-showed almost every time. So youre opinions on the facility are both baseless and completely unfounded. However, because were so passionate about golf and the customer experience, wed be more than happy to provide clarity around your nonsense. Trackman technology offers an unparalleled experience featuring 140+ courses. Our facility features two simulator bays which can entertain small group events up to 14 people. And as for parking, we happily provide dedicated parking directly in front of the facility, as well as additional 50 yards away in a parking lot.

Since you have taken advantage of a small business (and robbed our loyal customers of over 12 hours of bookable time), we feel it is necessary to provide further information on your constant cancellations with us. Below are all of the dates that you booked and canceled:
1/22 OP, 1/22 Buffalo, 1/22 Buffalo, 1/23 OP, 1/29 Buffalo, 1/29 OP, 1/30 OP, 2/5 OP, 2/6 OP, 2/19 OP, 3/5 OP.

Your feedback of BGS is invalid and dishonest.

Buffalo Golf & Social is happy to welcome all golfers who wish to grow the game and respect our facilities. We will continue to provide the best simulator rentals and lessons in the area for the foreseeable future.

A) There is no chance in hell they can handle 14 people
B) Yeah, they have 2 parking spots in front. TWO spots.
C) They do have extra parking in back, I'll give them that

Anyway, never going again

how far do you walk from the parking lot to the first tee of your local?

I recently switched from E6 software to TGC 2019, and the new software is so much better. Thousands of courses, including my home course on it.

Have you looked at GSPro at all?

I have a SkyTrak and GSPro doesn't support it.

I'm working with a Mevo+ which is natively supported in GSPro, but based on my research for this project (which, quite frankly, has taken like 40 hours to firm up selections for everything from design to launch monitor to mats to enclosures to screens to computer to projector, and software), there is a software workaround to use Skytrak data with GSPro. I think details may be found in the GSPro Discord.

Of course, lots of people are very satisfied with TGC19, so you may have no reason to change.

So far TGC19 is pretty badass compared to E6. I may upgrade to a Bushnell monitor later this year, so I'll re-evaluate software if I do that.

My putting stroke is straight back and I saw a bit on TV about face-balanced putters being better for that type of stroke.

My putter is toe weighted, so rather than buy a new one now, I thought I'd put a bit of lead tape on the heel and see how it feels. Will doing this move the sweet spot nearer the heel? Any other stuff that might happen?

Yes, the more square the stroke the more a face balanced putter(mallet) will help.

To see how face balanced your putter is do the following. Balance the putter horizontally in the air on one finger. If the putter is properly face balanced the face will point straight up. Otherwise the toe will hang down to some degree.

Chances are you won't even come close to properly face balancing your putter for various reasons but this is a somewhat decent method of checking. I would suggest going to your nearest golf store and test face balanced mallets to see how much they help your stroke.

Yes, they suggested that method of checking the balance on the TV segment.

Thinking of some fun formats to play in a team game either 4v4v4 or 3v3v3 ...

We normally play either straight up and the best 3 scores count. We also just do a standard scramble. Then a couple others.

What's been suggested is a 3 club challenge thing. I was thinking of mixing it up and either do it as a scramble or just everyone play your own ball but with a little twist no one is allowed to have the same club in their team. For example only one person can use a putter in your team. Think this just gives it a little twist as it kind of puts pressure on different people throughout the round in the sense if someone is using putter you would expect this person to be doing bits on the greens.

I was going to suggest this, 4 Iron/Hybrid/5 and 7 wood are all classed as the same club not sure if that would be fair. Problem I'm having is one of the high handicappers uses a chipper and I would imagine he would insist on using it he is pretty handy with it tbh but I'm not sure what club this would be the same as. If he wasn't on my team I'd say putter but if he was on my team I'd would want to use the putter

Saw this on the weekend. Not sure what the situation was on 17 in terms of how far he was ahead but thought this was a great shot.
