How many of you play a tee with the lines on them? Or do you just play with what the course gives you?

Thinking I actually need to invest in ones so I tee the ball up the same height every time.

I use castle in the winter just because we are off matts and I actually use the orange one which I think is the highest one but I do hover driver at address. Other than that I just use normal tee's I think some have marking on but don't really ever reference it that way,

I have a guy I play with who is semi retired, You can tell when you find one of his balls or tee's as he has coloured them a particular way. I was like you have way to much time on your hands ... I also had a peak into his score card holder and he has notes basically saying "Focus on the next shot/hole" etc etc I kind of respected it, everyone else ripped him for it

Blizzard took out one of the two golf domes near me today. I need to move.

I've never heard of a golf dome. But I have a feeling if you are near one you should move further south.

think mat range wearing a touque and hoodie while targeting mittens on a string hung from the back wall
ear muffs aren't required unless waiving top gun glow sticks to guide F-15s out of the hanger
once empty, hit driver off the deck from fore to aft as long as you cut it low

This stat is just insane.

172 rounds posted to GHIN so far this year. I don't even post 9 hole rounds either (which is rare anyways). I have a tee time every day for the rest of the year, weather permitting.

congrats to your schedule having the availability, and to you having the ability to take advantage of it
every other day...no wonder you're scoring well

I think I may have around the same if not more I have 140 recorded but I have stopped recording them around my home course. Meant to be playing a decent course tomorrow depending on what the weather wants to do.

And the other golf dome in my area collapsed. Come spring everyone here is going to look like they've never golfed before.

At least I'm alive though. 27 deaths and counting.

That death toll is crazy. Is it people who decided to go out and drive or what?

Some of it is that first responders simply couldn't get to people. Like you call 911 and say I think I'm having a heart attack and all they could do was say good luck.

But I think most of it is people in cars. They warned us DO NOT DRIVE but there's close to a million people in Erie County.....plenty of people are bound to not listen.

I don't think they've given the specifics on the deaths yet though.

ugh! Just tragic.

Videos I have seen are other worldly.

I found the details on the deaths

- 3 were from an EMS Delay;
- 14 were found outside;
- 3 were from shoveling/blowing cardiac events;
- 4 were from no heat; &
- 3 were in a vehicle.

I'd have to imagine the 14 "found outside" were people who had to abandon their cars.

A lot of these are just unacceptable in a first world country.

well it was a ~50 year event with warning but at a horrible time, sometimes mother nature just wins.

My wife got me a Samsung s5 classic watch, I think it's called, for Christmas. I've never been a watch guy, but so far I don't mind wearing it. I think there are a few golf GPS programs available for it. Does anyone use them and what do you think?

What I thought was going to be an annual Arizona golf thing has already been nixed. My buddy will be outside Phoenix super bowl weekend and that's when he suggested I fly down. Prices for everything are outrageous. I could go visit my sister in Israel and pay less.

Club Champion fitting today. Overall I thought it went really well. The fitter explained things much better than any other one I have had previously. Details:

Started with the irons. Long story short, every other iron I tried, nothing beat out my P790s. The most time was spent on figuring out if a shaft was better than my current PX LZ's. Ended up settling on KBS C-Taper 130g. The peak height and land angle came down significantly. I will have to double check when I get access to Trackman data to get the exact differences.

Moved on to 3-wood next. Current gamer is Callaway Mavrik SubZero. Spin numbers were too high and losing about 20 yards of distance. Ended up getting fit into a TaylorMade Stealth Plus. Shaft that was quite a bit better for me was of course the most expensive out there, LA Golf DJ Series 75 gram. My 3 wood carry numbers jumped to 255y. I ended up not ordering this yet. The price for the combo was just too much.

Next up we took a quick look at the driver. No changes there, keeping it as is for now. Maybe down the line I will look into another fitting.

Hybrid/driving iron - Currently have a Ping G410 3h with an AD DI in it. I know this this is way too high launching and I am getting robbed of a ton of distance. Ended up being fit into a Callaway Rogue ST Max with a Nemesys 90g shaft. Yardage gain was 25, from 215 to 240. Also tried a T200 3 iron, just too difficult for me to hit.

Putter stays the same.

Wedges. Replacing the 60 and 50 Vokeys with TaylorMade. Thinner sole for the 50 and a slightly different grind for the 60 (actually dropping down to a 58). Also keeping my current 54 Vokey.

Will post more when I get Trackman data.

Nice review.
I have a fitting next week for my birthday.
I am wondering if it would make sense to delay until the new lines of clubs are released or if it doesn’t really matter.

I don't think it's a big deal unless you HAVE to have the newest stuff.

I can't imagine 2023 clubs are measurably better than 2022 clubs. If you're comparing 2022 with 2010, that's one thing, but the incremental change year to year is small.

A lot of the time this is true, but not always. The difference between the Ping G400 driver and the G400 Max the next season was unbelievable. A ton of difference between the TM M5/6 drivers and the SIM/max. Ping's G700 irons were a revolutionary change for the average golfer.
