so i was reading some instructional stuff on internet on hitting the driver...
as preface, i am the opposite of many very athletic people who barely play golf. i am good at almost everything but my driving is never that good. length nor direction.
i've been working on some stuff that helping. but then i came across this and was curious.
HERE GOES
one of the top instructors says you should have 45 degree lie angle with driver when you hit it.
driver lies are sort of 52-53ish. depends on company/driver/etc. but that's a reasonable number.
most non-elite golfers are 50 degrees or so at impact with driver. fairly close the natural lie angle.
corey pavin and fred funk are about 40 degrees..... very straight but short by tour standards.
so how do i incorporate that? stand further from ball? lower hands? toe up in air as you address ball?
lastly, how much does the shaft droop at contact?.. not actually sure how that factors in the original instructor's advice (because the droop i think would be curvature of shaft)
thx advance
... kinda disjointed but i thought others might find it interesting.
