If you hit your 60 fat a lot, then more bounce will help you hit better shots when you miss.

More bounce will also help you hit better flop shots off of tighter lies as it allows you to hit down more and let the bounce help you from hitting it fat.

No, not the opposite. More bounce (the higher the number) means the club will be able to dig into the turf less. So, if you are a sweeper, then you don't have a problem with the club digging to deep so you can use less bounce and not worry. Opposite for steep swings, because they tend to dig deeper into the turf so more bounce will help them not go so deep.

I was talking about the ability to hit flop shots being easier with more bounce because you can hit down more and not worry about it digging into the ground. This allows the club to slide under the ball if you hit behind it rather than resulting in a fat shot laying the sod over it.

I saw it posted a lot in the 80's, don't really remember it after the mid 90's or so. Regardless, it's a pile of crap.

At the private club I work at, singles and twosome are expected to go around and not try and play through. But I'm sure it varies at different clubs.

Another reason why public golf is the worst. 8min tee times full of hackers who don't take care of the course and have zero etiquette and play slow.

Monday is last day of the handicap season up this way. Looking like 39 degrees with 20 mph winds when I tee off. Should warm up to the mid 40's.

The club maker is a master of aerodynamics and he specifically designed that club for the player's limp-wristed swing.

Next let's put liquid heat in a PGA Tour player's jock and see what he shoots.

Was ****ing around on the practice green today to see if I can find a grip I like on the putter on short ones. Tried locking both arms with part of bottom hand slightly below the grip. Felt OK. Also tried cross-handed but it doesn't feel quite right.

Anyone else have any tips?

I use a modified claw where my left hand is on top, thumb going down the front of my fatso 5.0, and left index finger runs down left side. My right thumb touches left index finger but no over lap and right index goes down right side of grip making a v but the right hand isn't really gripping just stabilizing. I use this from short putts to about 35 feet, longer if fast greens.

The other grip i used when I had a slim was cross handed sort of with left index down left side of grip, thumb and fingers wrap around and take my right hand with left pinkie tucked, thumb down front of grip and pin it to left forearm. Would use this out to 40 feet but doesn't work as well with 5.0 grip

This is with a big ugly mallet face balanced thing, not sure if it matters but I am a small arc back straight through putter.

The first one kinda sounds like what Wie is doing. I seen to have some early success by locking my arms straight and acting like it's a mini-putter. Lot of stuff to try yet to see what feels good.

Yeah I basically just started messing around inside on my carpet till I found something that felt good. 10 years from now just the standard putting grip will be rare.

I use the claw on short putts and it took away my yips. 5 feet or farther I just use a conventional putting grip. The claw actually works on the course removing my yips. On the practice green I could knock 20 straight 3footers without the yips with any grip but on the course it would still come back.

standard putting grip here. #2 putter on the sim tour. #1 is a pro.

think less about your grip and more about your stroke. maybe drink less too.

no, its true....just a sim.

then again, instead of just saying "im a good putter", i have actual stats against others that are so into golf, that they have spend 10k on a sim for their house too.

oh yeah, plus...

...enjoy your claw grips! lol

So I'm going to be asking for a rangefinder/laser yardage thingy for Christmas. What is the latest forum consensus on the best ones for a reasonable price?
