Well the PGA and LPGA tours did some agreement like a year and a half ago or so (maybe was sooner???) about futire co-sanctioned events. Who knows if anything comes of it.

How about a PGA v LPGA Ryder Cup style event?

lol Gulbis with more wins in this 'tourney' than she had on the LPGA. i'm guessing she was invited because of her 'perks' and was carried by her other two teammates.

I wonder what would be a fair yardage difference would be. Probably 20 yards on long par 3s and medium 4s and short 5's and 30-40 on the long holes. Really depends on the course and if it takes drivers out of the guys hands.

I know over in Europe they had a pro bowling tour open to both sexes but the girls got like 4 or 5 pins a game so it has been done in other "sports".

I have a feeling the PGA/LPGA agreement will end up being a doubles event like the men had this year but 1 guy 1 girl each team.

why would being male be an advantage in bowling? heavier ball so more mass hitting the pins?

They can throw it faster with more revs which equals more strikes. The modern bowling ball has closed the gap a ton though.

Anyone tried the SkyTrak launch monitor? I got the opti-shot last year just for fun and was thoroughly disappointed with it. Pretty horribly accurate in my experience but was only $300. Skytrak seems much better at ~$2K so hopefully its a decent option for messing around in the garage/back yard.

It used to be called Spalding Invitational, now TaylorMade sponsors it. At Pebble Beach, used to be played around Christmas time. Juli Inkster is the only LPGA player to win the event. Mixed event since 1979. Includes multiple tours, with tees placed based on respective tours' average driving distance.

i owned one before upgrading to a gc2. do it. and don't be tempted by the TGC sale. Its garbage and their tour is run like crap. Get JNPG and don't look back.

then come going the tour...

you don't need a full blown sim room, although you will want one within 3 days. a net, pc and monitor are perfectly fine. pretty sure we still have a guy that sets up on his balcony to play.

Man, I've never even heard of this...this kind of tournament should be huge. And fun.

So I'm NOT going to play in that fourball event in a few weeks. Cost was $310 for the team for 2 rounds, no problem. My current GHIN handicap wasn't good enough. They also made you be a member of the FSGA for an additional $50 each. It would only be good for one event for me basically. PASS

Time to look for more events.

I don't know what part of Florida you are in but the Treasure Coast Am at Sandridge in Vero used to be good. I believe its in October.

I'm in Tampa so that is an option, although not a great one. I will likely play a few more FSGA one day events. No membership needed for those.

Thanks I will look into this. Got it this weekend and messed around with it, decently impressed with the accuracy. Just messing around on the practice range, will look into getting JNPG this week and toying around with it.

I don't really have room for a full blown sim room but I have it set up in my garage with an old 30" TV and can easily move into my backyard when the weather is nice.

Everybody's Golf was released today for PS4. It's the new version of the old Hot Shots Golf game. I think it's the best golf game out there. It's more cartoon-like but a ton of fun.

They have something called Turf Wars so if you play it let me know and we can have our own gang.

3:24p tee time. Getting out there before 1p so I hope to get out earlier otherwise there is no way I finish. Based on the routing I would probably play 1-14,17 if I don't get out early.

Was in Target and saw some Nike 20XI-S balls from 3 years ago maybe for under $20. Probably not even a good price but hey it is 4 piece urethane.

These things are absurd short game spin monsters. I can't remember the last ball I have played that spun as much as these and was able to launch them low off the wedge. Like I had 105 from a good lie in the rough down wind to an uphill flat green. Came out so low I thought I thinned the hell out of with a 80% gap wedge. Get up expecting it to be over the green and it stopped like 3 feet from its pitch mark.

Not sure I need that much spin as I landed on a slope and spun one back 20 feet when I didn't need to. Awesome on rock hard greens though, probably pick up another box to have for scrambles.

They sound so weird off wedges though.

Been tinkering with a stronger grip...I like it, especially on drives. Seems more consistent so far.
