LOL!

I'm guessing whoever shot the video was also holding the guy's beer.

Video doesn't show on my computer. I am assuming from the comments it is the idiot on the ice... Caught it a little fat I think.

Been a while since I've looked at any numbers since I rarely use the skytrak app and just play rounds in tgc.

here is my update. a little distance increase but overall, just more consistency lately. plus, got rid of the tweak that was causing my pain...

Was gonna go pick up a set of sm6 wedges as they were the best price I've seen here ($150CAD no tax), but the sale was only on in store today from 8-10am and lol waking up for that.

Anyone seen any good deals in the US for them? I could get them shipped.

new best simround yesterday. Could have been real nice if not for 2 doubles...

Last edited by #Thinman; 12-29-2016 at 12:48 PM. Reason: oh, plus first eagle ever, sim or otherwise, drained it from 60 yds out.

for that price your best bet is probably something used but in mint condition here https://www.globalgolf.com/golf-club...itleist/wedge/

So long, and thanks for all the fish. I spend too much time on here. I know I haven't posted much in the golf forum lately, but I've enjoyed all the anecdotes and debates over the years. (lol breaking putts). Later boys!

the current forecast for my annual trip to Bandon next week. Looks like my 3 year streak of wearing shorts is coming to an end.

Played my first round on a simulator today. Pretty cool I have to say. Shot an 86 at Pebble (had it set to max 2-putts which definitely helps the score). Cool to get all the stats on my swing also which I've never seen before. Pretty accurate to my real yardages and slices/hooks felt accurate as well. Plan to play some more over the winter.

That's my nightmare right there. Hell, it's 60* here today and I'm like, nah, try again tomorrow.

played yesterday in low 40s. it's really not bad if you have the layers and keep all extremities covered (whiskey also helps). honestly the biggest worry is frost delays and not being able to get the rounds in.

Yeah when I played Pacific Dunes back in March I thought it was a warm low to mid 40's. When it was low 50's and 20-30 mph wind in the afternoon playing Old Mac I was ****ing frozen.

Oof - after picking up the sticks for the first time in 3 years a couple weeks back and having a few range sessions on mats, I decided to video my swing during a grass session last night. It seems that for a brief moment I'd forgotten how bad I am at golf. Super layed off take away into an awkward, over the top looking plane adjustment with massive hip slide, little hip turn, and more head movement than an Indy car driver doing 200 down the straight. I'm shocked that I hit the few good shots that I do.

Sigh

thinman did you ever post how much your simulator cost, which one you bought, where you have it in your house, etc

I am in the backyard. Only gets down to ~40 here on a cold night so no biggy. I bring it up to around 60* with a propane heater

everything is in my backyard thread starting here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/34...l#post50347356

but I don't believe I ever mentioned simulator cost though

Skytrak, $2k (there is a promo RIGHT NOW for $300 off) (rockbottomsports coupon code works for additional $$$ off)
The Golf Club (sim software) $1k (I think the promo for $900 is still going)
BenQ 1085ST projector $900
Impact screen $200
Cage ~$400 ($250 for the 20x10, then I converted the top to pitched)
Tarps $600
Country Club Elite 5x5 mat $500
Fiberbuilt single sided mat with foundation $600

I went a little mat crazy.

I already had an i5-2.66 that ran the software decent, but i killed it, so spent another $1k on an i7/memory/video card upgrade. the game is video card intensive over cpu.

If you are indoors, a lot of the cost outside of the skytrak/sim sw/projector will come from how nice you want the area to look. i don't get hung up on that stuff.

Last edited by #Thinman; 01-03-2017 at 06:14 PM. Reason: ...forgot the mats
