So two rounds of golf in with the new irons I feel I have good distances now. Here are the differences in lofts from the old set (G30s) to the new set (AP2s)

Club - Old - New

P - 45* - 46*
9 - 40* - 42*
8 - 35* - 38*
7 - 30.5* - 34*
6 - 27* - 30*
5 - 24* - 27*
4 - 21* - 24*

Explains the 1/2 to 1 club distance loss for sure!

I have such a large gap now between my 4I and my 3H I need to decide whether to go with a 4H or a 3I and pull the 3H from the bag. Although how often during a round does this even come up.

Edit: Also feeling so good about the game lately that I entered a FSGA one day tournament (2 man best ball) with my regular playing partner in the middle of June.

Technically he did it wrong and should never have been able to win based on tie breaker holes, but he tricked the TD who didn't know any better and he ended up wining $$. Sneaky old bastard. Lost all respect for him that day.
If he knowingly had 15 clubs in the bag and is aware of the rule he's DQ'd.

Pretty much a newbie here, got a few questions.

In a PGA tourney say the two players on one hole look to be exactly the same distance from the hole and neither wants to hit first. Does an official just eyeball it and make a decision or do they have some way to accurately measure?

2. When teeing off can a player tee up inside the tee markers and stand with his feet outside the markers?

3. How far back behind the tee markers can a pro set up? Is it only limited by how much space is behind the markers, or is there a limit of say 5 feet?

Just questions that come to mind when watching a tournament, thanks.

1. Official will eyeball it and determine. They can have a string to determine but you usually only see that during a Ryder Cup.

2. Yes

3. Two club lengths or approximately 7 1/2 feet (45.5" driver).

Yeah kind of annoying it rained a lot at my house but course is 25 miles away but that is the issue with old courses in Ohio, they just don't drain compared to Florida and other places with lots of sand and little clay.

Is it just me or do most Asian golfers pause at the top of their swing?

Maybe but Mats hits the hell out of it after the pause from the top.

They're only slow while driving.

I think Bob Murphy had one of the biggest pauses at the top ever, and he is not Asian.

Phil's insider trading mess has come up again.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/blogs/g...1394-golf.html

The funny thing is that they are trying to get back the money he made on the deal. Which is kind of like making the punishment for stealing a car having to give the car back.

What a freaking idiot. From a WRX article on it:

The complaint also indicates that Mickelson does not have a history of trading stock and that the position in Dean Foods dwarfed the golfer’s other holdings.

Don't really care either but it's just a really dumb thing to do and so easily rooted out

Jamie Sadlowski was medalist in local qualifying for US Open. I understand he plans on playing at the Ohio sectional qualifier after the Memorial.

I put his odds of qualifying at 20:1, curious what others here think his chances are.

Would be amazing for golf if he could get some exposure actually playing PGA events instead of lame ass long drive competitions. Would be quite the show, I still can't ****ing believe that guy exists.

Is this the guy that bombs the ball like 400? If he qualifies I hope they pair him with DJ and Bubba rounds 1 and 2 and he hits driver every hole.
