i am also interested in a new bag. fwiw, i've been hearing some good things about Sun Mountain bags, which weigh-in at an incredibly light 3.5 lbs.

I've had a Titleist stand bag for the last 3-4 years and it's pretty light and comfortable. They're probably even better now, I haven't checked them out in the past few years.

It is sunny and 55 tomorrow, wtf? suck it up! In DFW, we only have like 2 or 3 weeks total we can't play. anything < 30 degrees, not so much, 30-40 very iffy, >40 put on a sweater. I understand it snows and stuff there and you actually do have a "season", but you still got a little bit left don't you?

I just can't imagine putting my clubs up for a guaranteed 5 months or whatever. I would kill myself.

luckily we're finally getting nice weather here (rain almost every day in october) so hopefully the courses will be open for another couple weeks

I really like the looks of the Sun Mountain FourFive (or 4.5 whatever it's called). It's obviously a pound heavier than the 3.5, but it's still pretty lightweight.

But what do I know, I'm still using a 1st generation Ping Hoofer.

I can't believe that my club is throwing together another event this coming weekend, still supposed to be in the 50s.

I wish I could have skipped out on my meetings and stuff today.

50s (aka in the teens north of the border) would be just amazing. it's been single digits in Alberta for more than a month now.

Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of golfing during the week unless I take a vacation day and I used all of them up recently to take some time off when my father died. I envy you southern americans that get to play year round, but since I'm so used to taking winter breaks, it doesn't really wear on me much.

The winter gives me a chance to put money aside and do other physical activities, I returned to my judo club yesterday for the first time in quite a while and the only reason I hadn't gone for so long was due to the summer golf season.

I may take a vacation somewhere between January and February to get back into the swing of things, but for now I'm over golf.

good point, I often choose golf over working out and have therefore thrown away the good shape I was in about a year ago. I guess I am uber obsessed with golf too, which many people aren't.

So, despite what I said last week, the weather has taken a turn for the gold this weekend and I am taking the clubs back out. I can't believe it'll be november 14th tomorrow and I will be on a golf course!

This is probably the latest I have consistently played in the last few years, I've been playing 1-2 times a week comfortably thanks to good weather so far into late Oct and early Nov.

AFAIK, sun mountain makes the bags for titleist.

Here in Thailand, we're just coming up on the best time of year to play.

If you're a ProV user, next week begins a holiday promotion where retailers may have them discounted ($39.99) + free imprinting for holiday gifts.

In Dec. look for the new TaylorMade Penta trial pack at a discounted price to what they will retail.

Thanks for the heads up Jtrout.

ungh, why'd I have to wait until potentially the last round of the year to play a really motivating round of golf? I didn't drive the ball well which was no surprise to me, but I was hitting every other club in the bag like god. Puring Irons, almost holing out chips, making almost every putt inside 10'. I really hope the weather holds up for next week and I can get out one more time, I feel like i'm on a mission right now.

I'm thinking about getting some new irons for Christmas. So far I'm considering the new R9 TP irons, or the Mizuno MP 57, 62 or 67. Right now I have the MX-25s, but I want a more slender iron that I can hit with a little more consistency.

Has anyone had experience buying from Golf Galaxy? They'll fit you and everything, right? The only thing I fear is hitting them in that simulator instead of outside on a range where you can actually see the ball fly. I've bought a few things from them before, but nothing as big as an iron set. Any input would be helpful, thanks!

Can anyone help me find a video of the 1974 (British) Open Championship, where Gary Player putts the ball left-handed from beside the clubhouse onto the green of the final hole?

I've tried, but been unsuccessful.

The Golf Galaxy experience is anything but predictable. Sometimes you'll get someone who knows what they're doing, sometimes you get someone whose knowledge of the game of golf is limited to saying "Tiger Woods duh".

I generally prefer to buy anything that should be fit elsewhere, from someone I know and trust.

I get a left-to-right scroll bar of "Great Shots" videos, for me Player in 1974 is the second one.

Yea, this is what I'm thinking. The only thing is, I want to hit the actual clubs I'm buying before I get them, rather than just be fitted and get the clubs in the mail and have no idea how I'm going to play with them, so I'm kind of in a Catch-22. If I get fitted at my CC at home, chances are they won't have any of the irons for me to test that I mentioned. Not sure what my best avenue is here.

Dubai world champship. Best event I've seen in along time. Great couse with a ton on the line and a fantastic broadcast. This is why you watch golf on TV.

First time in here, I never even realised there was a golf forum.

Westwood played amazing and is such a likeable guy. Couldn't be happier for him.

Hi guys, I'm a Canadian in Arizona for the winter. Does anyone know if I am ok to accept prize money in golf tournaments without some sort of visa? I'm here legally, just vacationing to play golf.
