Well it obviously depends on where you are at with your game as well. I am a 5 and was a 2 last summer, and so when I am playing with scratch/+ handicaps I play better. But I also played with a guy shot 65 at my tournament last year, and that didn't really help me play better because I was just like OH OK.

Well it is just a matter of practice. When I am locked in, playing all the time, lag putting is one of the strongest parts of my game. You just keep your grip really light and mentally picture how fast the ball needs to be going, combine it with practice, and you are good to go.
I don't even think about how far to bring the putter back, I think about how fast the ball needs to be going. Spend more time on the practice green before your rounds and you will improve.
