does anyone know how to utilize the various weight options for the titliest 910 and 913 drivers.

in other words, what is the difference in a lighter weight plug and a heavier plug?

what are the benefits of a lighter weight vs heavier?

i have the various weight plugs and the wrench tool. im trying to figure out which weight plug would be best for me. they range from 2-12 ounces i believe. maybe theyre grams.

What a nightmare. I run a public course in Florida. Get a call at 4pm and someone had their cart stuck on the bank of a lake. Every once in a while some yahoo does this. As I am pulling it out, get another call someone had gotten their cart stuck on another hole and they left cart, with wheels in the air with out even calling.

Won my club's father/son with my Dad today. He was super happy. He's probably an 8 handicap, with very high variance (similar to me).

We shot a 72 (even par) that probably should have been a 68, won by 3. It was a modified chapman, so not the hardest of formats if you are both playing reasonably well. I had two 180 degree u-turns on back to back holes, and my Dad missed a 2 footer and 1 footer on back to back holes at one point.

Modified chapman was each drive on par 3s, select. drive/swap then select on par 4s, and drive/swap/swap then select on par 5s. Alternate shot after selecting a shot.

We both got on the 515 yard 14th in 2. Pretty solid that my Dad can still hit it 280 at 62.

Also I just left my driver completely in the bag today because once again I can't hit it. I'm legit hitting my RBZ stage 2 285, so there's really only about 15 yards to be gained by hitting driver on average.

I'm thinking of tuning the one I have to 13 degrees or so from 14.5, and buying one to set at 17 degrees, and dumping my driver.

Enough about players we hate. Anyone wanna do a top 3-5 favorite players list with me for no good reason!?

1) TIGAH - ... Hes Tiger f'n Woods
2) Furyk - Random man crush? Dont honestly know why I like him so much
3) Big Easy - Great accent. Been consistant forever. Was the person to cash in on Adam Scotts coLOLapse. Everything checks out.
4) Bubba - Whats not to love?
5) Fowler - Hes such a bro. Awesome outfits and damn fine player. Plus the Golf Boys video is amazingggg.
6) Lefty - Just love watching him play. Cant leave him off my list!

Cant keep going but players like Rory, DJ, Sneds, and Mahan would be in the running for the next few spots.

whats my go to club if i have a 30 yard fairly easy chip at the green with a lot of green to work with? i always pull a 56 Cleveland i got from a golf friend. should i be hitting my pitching wedge some? perhaps there is a little less room for error with the PW, and then use the green more. im a bogey golfer.

what do the pros use in these spots?

All depends on what kind of terrain you have to work with.

From 30 out, I'd prefer to take it lower and run it out towards the hole with something like a 9I or 8I because I can control the distance and spin better. If I have to take it over a bunker or the green is elevated, then I will use whatever wedge will give me the proper loft.

It's a tough shot, especially for amateurs, because at 30 yards, it's very tough to have a "stock swing" for that. It's also tough because it is very easy to mis-hit the ball because you're not used to hitting it that distance.

More than anything, it just takes practice to keep taking swings from that and similar distances, and figure out how to feel it out so that you put the proper loft and distance on the ball.

Do you watch golf or just namedrop?

There's nothing to like about 2-3 players in that list.

That's obv just ur opinion but that list does seem like the most stock/standard list of commercialized golfers... Id say personally I like lefty, poulter, the big easy, big JD, and Sergio

I do, but not firmiliar enough with the "lesser" players to really form opinions.

Also, I doubt Furyk has THAT big of a following. Hes just the man.

Assuming Lefty is 1 of the 3 unlikeable guys... Who the hexk are the other two and why?

Oh yea, opened this thread to say I finally got a chance to go out and finally hit my new (to me) irons for the first time. Took a little feeling out, but REALLY liking the way they feel/results so far. Managed to knock an 8i from 150ish on the edge of the fairway in pretty decent rain to like 3-4 ft. Of course I got the yips and missed the birdie putt but Im just blaming that on the greens not playing nearly as slow as they should have.

It wasnt my fault!

One reason golf is such an exasperating game is that a thing we learned is so easily forgotten, and we find ourselves struggling year after year with faults we had discovered and corrected time and again.

I swear my greens all have that donut effect or whatever it's called. The holes all seem a bit raised starting like 6 inches from the hole and wrapping around it. So sick and tired of missing 4-5 foot putts where it's center-cut then starting 6 inches in front of the hole it just scoots to either side of the hole and rolls just next to it. SLFDJS:L^GHJ:LSGHLSKGHLS^GHLSJF

Am I supposed to just HAMMER these putts 4 feet past? So infuriating. Pelz talked about this phenomenon in his short game book.

I've noticed that a lot here in Dallas area when the clay-type soil gets hard in the summer (and sometimes winter). The guy cutting the cups pulls the hole out too fast and they don't do anything to press around the hole back down.

If you're a member/play the same course all the time, write/email/talk to the superintendent and see if they can do anything.

Rules questions:

1. In club championship the other day, I hit the ball into the water, took a drop extremely close to the hazard line to get some grass underneath the ball. Ball stopped literally about a quarter of an inch from the hazard. Can I ground my club "on" the hazard line or inside the hazard so long as my ball is out?

2. Seems pretty simple: I teed up my ball on the first hole and knocked it off the tee with my waggle. Picked it up, re-teed and hit it down the middle but my wife/caddy freaked out. (Rules nit). Nothing wrong with this right?

3. Hit the ball off of the golf cart in front of us. Never found it. Pretty sure it ended up in their cart or bag or something. I took the lost ball penalty and assume that's the right move and went back to the tee and made double. Played another ball from the "relief" spot and made bogey and asked the guys if they ever found my ball. They didn't. But say they had, would my bogey have been good? I think probably not.

Also, my bro in law who is a + something handicap shot a 100 in one of the rounds.

For number 2, there is no stroke penalty if you did not intend to strike the ball as your drive. Just re-tee and no harm done.

The other end of the spectrum in this grey area (and I think they should penallize him) is when Kevin Na takes a full swing with his driver but pulls off at the last second and swings literally a few inches next to his ball. I think they need to force a stroke upon him here because, without knowing his history, it would appear that he attempted to hit the ball. What I mean to say is... if he ever DOES attempt to hit the ball and whiffs, we wouldn't know the difference and that's wrong.

That's an eventful tournament

If the ball is outside the hazard, your club can be grounded inside the hazard with no penalty

If you hit the ball with a waggle, just replace no penalty

Did the ball hit the cart of your fellow competitors, or the group ahead?
