It's 70 degrees here today.

I'm gonna go play some ****ing golf.

is it socialably acceptable to play a sneaky round on your own?

And if that doen't pan out I have 2 rounds booked for next weekend already! My legs are going to be so ****ing sore. can't wait

Went out today for the first round of the year in MN, front 9 was really nice and then the rain came decided to stop after 9 because we didn't have full rain gear and being soaked in 40 degree weather sucks

Wasn't planning on 25 mph wind. Shot 45, hit it pretty terrible but putted well. Got a lot of work to do

Watching Tiger on the range, I'm pretty sure I saw Jason Dufner was standing nearby stuffing tobacco into his mouth. Can't believe it's allowed at a professional golf tournament, moreover a major, The Masters no less, all while the cameras are rolling. Disgusting.

I won't troll the masters thread with this, but I personally think that the people who run Augusta in general are a bunch of scumbags who would be openly racist if they could get away with it.

I love watching the tournament each year, but hate how much attention it and they get as being some sort of holy grail of golf, when in fact it was people like them who held golf back from the masses for so long.

I dislike everything about Augusta except how it looks on TV.

Frost is about finished here in Denmark. I think summer greens will open in a couple of days, yay!

Saturday is the opening tourney at my club (first tourney of the season). Im in group A, the only group playing stroke play, others play stableford. Havent played a round of golf since last year. Its either going to be very fun or very painfull.

Anyone in the Riverside County, CA area?
Have a client meeting up there next week when I get back to the west coast and was looking for a course or two to play.

What's worse -- chewing tobacco, spitting, or swearing

Chewing - unless the spitting is a consequence of the chewing, in which case they are equally abhorrent.

There's that jittery guy on tour who smokes mid round. Forget his name but he's got big nostrils.

The camera went to his chip from off the green (in the fairway still) and he took a drag then set his cigarette down on the fairway, chipped it, picked up the cig and kept smoking.

I was surprised to see it. Neither that nor chewing bothers me. I think both are disgusting but whatever.

Things that drive me up the wall are idiots missing a putt then throwing their putter in the air, and dropping it onto the green. Classless.

And I hate when players hit their tee shot wild and just drop the club. Hold onto your club you ****ing baby. You hit the shot. You live with it. We know you aren't happy with it - you don't have to be overly demonstrative.

Either of these 2 things will pretty much make me stop rooting for said player.

LOL on Spencer Levin and his big nostrils.

Johnny M hates Spencer because he used to come to Napa and beat the crap out of both of his boys. Johnny hates his swing also.

Dude had a good run last season? was in the hunt at Bay Hill and the Memorial

Played my first full round of golf this year, coincidentially it was also the first tourney of the year, and it was stroke play. yirk.

I liked my play, had a lot of good strokes, the putter was fine, not great, not bad. 4 iron was great, 3 club was horrible. Driver was good, but a few great misses. Lots of bad shots around the green, havent had a lob wedge or sand wedge in my hand for 5 month around a green.

Scorecard

The red marks is OOB shots, yes 2 on 18, and 3 shots in a bunker :-( Started on hole 4 fwiw.

Also had my longest drive ever. had 48 meters to the pin on 9 after the driver. 9 is 298 on the card.

Something wierd happened after the winter, I dont slice anymore, if anything I have a slight draw now.

Shot a barfathon 92 this morning. Need to get off the tee more consistently. Missing too many fairways and losing shots getting back into your play. Did make a gorgeous 30 foot birdie. That was fun.

Am planning on a set of new irons. But im a poor student how wants to buy second hand clubs from golfbidder. I am a 18 hcp, but am learning fast and want to buy clubs that can also benefit better players. Not looking to buy blades obv, but feel like ive outgrown my beginnerset. Anyone have any suggestions on good, not too pricey irons?

Also, do irons also need to be stiff with high swing speeds?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
