Ran into some people from the US Open at Bethpage who were locals. They all said that the Red course is by far the best course there, but due to the limited space for seating/grandstands it doesn't get to host anything and the Black course gets all the glory.

I have two local Titliest fitting centres to choose from; the first one I called only offers fittings from 9-3 mon-fri. Catering to retired folks I guess.
So I email the guy at the other location and tell him "i am interested in a titliest fitting but eagle's nest's monday-friday hours don't suit me. can you please give me an idea of the hours you work?"

<begin response>
"i work every other weekend if that helps"
<end response>

oh no, really, that's incredibly ****ing informative. Titleist is lucky to have you as their ambassador.

Anyone know if Augusta/Masters contacts you if you lose the raffle for the option to purchase tickets?

Also when is the usual time-frame to expect to hear a notification?

Despite what it says, I have never been notified if I lost the raffle. Then again, it's never been online before so I would imagine it's a lot easier and cheaper to send everyone who loses a generic email.

Does any one know if there are S56 heads in the Ping AFS Cart? I am trying to hit these as I am going to be buying a new set of irons if the Heat win the NBA Title. Golf Galaxy acts like they are doing me a ****ing favor too in answering questions and/or letting me hit clubs.

Forgot to mention that I totally got stuck with 2 pure hackers on the back 9 on Sunday... I know I am likely considered a hack and I am not gonna venture into the discussion about my speed of play again but jesus christ it was unbearable...

There was a 2some teeing off in front of us and somehow they put us with 2 other guys in a 4 some but whatever Ill play with anyone reasonable. The guys were not.. they were both middle aged with swings similar to the opening of a rusty folding chair.

The one guy used a bright greenish yellow neon ball which I figure to each his own BUT he used it because he is color blind and struggles to find the balls pretty much anywhere. I literally found his ball without looking 10times as he was wandering around aimlessly 20yds ahead of where it was because he also had no idea where it went... at one point I pointed it out numerous times and even stood over it then walked away to my playing partner who was hitting only to look over at the guy wandering around no where near it. I got a tad frustrated and muttered a little and just walked over and said "its right here I pointed it out 6 times" and walked away.

After 6 holes of this torture in over 2 hours of play and while they were looking for their drives still and we were both on the green we were able to just say **** it and said we are going to go ahead... I finished with my best 3 holes of the year in a row with a bogey/par/bogey and the par was a lipped out chip shot.. .the last 3 holes took 25min tops.

I guess I know what it feels like for really good people that play with me

Longshot, but does anyone know anything about golf in Mexico? I'm probably relocating there and want to continue playing, preferably somewhere with a reasonably priced membership but all the courses I'm finding (at least in the parts of Mexico where you'd want to live) seem to be really high-end expensive courses tailored toward vacationers.

Yeah, I'm thinking of moving there as well for poker related reasons. I've played in Cancun and Cozumel, but they were probably really high-end for Mexico standards. The price was around 60$, I think, but that was through a deal with the hotel I was staying at. I'm not sure what a membership would cost, or if it's even possible to live in a town comfortably like that if you're not staying in the resorts. I need to do some more research. Thinking either Canada or Mexico, or possibly the Philippines lol. ****ing US of A.

tzwien, How was that course in Cozumel? It looks pretty sweet. I think my wife's dad might be going there soon so if it was amazing I'll pass it on.

It was nice. It's just a whole different world down there. Different weather, grass, wildlife (boars and alligators ftw), so it was a little weird in comparison to MN golf especially. The conditions aren't super great, but it's really pretty and you can always go soak in the ocean when you're done. It's tough to find things to complain about when you're there.

Masters Yardage Book + additional pre-tournament laser (not allowed during competition) and pacing.

This is unreal, I've traded like 7 emails with this guy and still no appointment.

My last email to him yesterday said something like this:

"If this thursday works for you, I have a lesson at the facility and could come and see you after I'm done with nick. Otherwise, I am free anyday next week from Monday to Friday, please let me know a date and time and I'll be there"

<response>
"I am leaving early Thursday to take my kid somewhere
<end response>

I'm seriously considering forwarding this email to someone at Titliest FittingWorks. I'm sure they don't want this bozo representing their product line like this. wtf I JUST WANT A NEW ****ING DRIVER HOLY ****

Leaving for Australia tonight, taking my clubs ldo. Will be down there for a month, should get in anywhere from a half dozen to a dozen-plus rounds and will hopefully have some pictures to share in a months time.

You should do this. Dude sounds like either a prick, or somebody who is borderline illiterate. Either way that pretty much makes you unable to fit and sell equipment.

Yeah golfwrx. But that site isn't even that great. The golf forum here on 2p2 is probably the best I've seen anywhere, really

Golfwrx is good if you stay in the right places. The Pre-release section is good to keep up with all the new equipment coming out, and then the Instruction section has about a dozen really smart posters that I try to read. It's just that the signal to noise ratio is pretty bad in general.

My right pinky is doing much better and I'm still using interlock. I asked my father in law what his thoughts were and he said I was probably gripping too tightly between those fingers and said his are fairly relaxed. So I tried taking several practice swings with fewer pressure points on the grip and it was more comfortable without losing any speed or clubhead control. Damn baseball habits. It's hard to unlearn those habits and re-learn the golf ones. Hopefully I'll get there.

PHB.

A drill you can do to see if your grip pressure is too tight is to take a shaft without a clubhead on it and do a normal swing. Right around where impact would be, just try and let go of it. If your pressure is correct, it should go at about a 45 degree angle in front of you. If it's too tight, you won't release it right away and you'll end up having it go behind you or something. But yeah, baseball is definitely the opposite of golf when it comes to grip pressure.
