Hey Spott where did you hear about that deal? I'm checking the site and see nothing except for two 9-hole rounds, meal and cart for $165.

Sigh, I read this as you were playing a round with persimmon's and older 'sticks'. I was totally pumped and going to mandate you give a TR.

Erection gone

Aww, that kind of sucks I'd have to play this weekend. The notice is just too short to get my buddies into it. Even though I'm a terrible hacker I'd still like to play some of those signature holes.

Please give a good TR (pics) if pace of play isn't an issue.

I'll be bringing my camera for sure. Unfortunately we're teeing off at 6:40am (i know, brutal), so I won't be able to snap photos for a few holes. I can't believe I'm waking up at like 4am tomorrow for golf, this is obscene.

Better than getting up at 4am to go to work.

Starting a 1 month trial membership at a private club. The new membership director guy found me some people to play with tomorrow. Never played the course and don't know any members there. Trying this one cause pictures look great and it's between home and work and there's no food or beverage minimums.

I'm actually pretty nervous about it even though I am normally a guy who has fun regardless of how I play or who I play with. The only thing that I hate on a golf course is excessive waiting.

I'll get up at 4 for golf or skiing no problem. 6:40 tee times in the peak of summer are the nuts.

Man I think I'm going to try switching from interlock to overlap. My right pinky is ****ed up. Pretty sure I was putting some strong forces against the side of my knuckle at the top of my driver swing and then also at impact of my irons.

Haven't been able to effectively swing in a while but I took a few practice swings with the overlap today and it felt fine. Would take some getting used to, though.

If you play a round through an injury are you supposed to count that toward your handicap? Last time I went out this happened and it didn't hurt enough to not be able to finish 9 holes but I definitely think it affected my performance. I shot a 66 on a course that I shot 46 on the first time through.

I would put it in.

I think the GHIN computers automatically toss out rounds if they're too far of a deviation from your norm, even if they don't it's part of the reason it only tracks to best 10 your last 20.

You might wanna take a look at either your grip or your swing, because there is no way that kind of pain/injury should be happening with a normal swing

PHB - I remember at some point my pinky started hurting as a result of my grip but it was definitely because my grip sucked. Once I got it where it was supposed to be it got much better.

Hmmm, maybe my grip sucks ass. I'm using the grip straight out of Hogan's book fwiw. But maybe it's off. FWIW, I've got very thin fingers and I kind of think that might have something to do with it. Is there any way short of hiring a teacher to figure out if my grip is messed up?

Sounds like the problem could be that you're just not interlocking the pinky and the left index finger correctly (assuming you are RH). I also went through a period where my pinky would break from my left index finger at impact which was really bad. I might have the thinnest fingers of all time so if I can pull it off there's hope for you. I'm admittedly not a grip expert whatsoever but perhaps if you posted a picture or something I could try to help you out or at least get lol'd at by someone who can. Posting the question in dagolfdoc's thread wouldn't be a bad idea.

I've never, ever had a problem with my pinky with my interlock grip. I guess I've never thought how somebody even could have a problem with it lol. Mine just rests comfortably.

Weirdly enough my right pinky is tore up too recently, never had a problem with it before, but I golf so often that now it won't heal up, I just cover it with tape or a band aid but its annoying. I use an overlap grip, will have to check my grip real carefully next driving range session.

Oh god, so much for golf today. I had to stand over this low counter bending my back doing stuff at work yesterday and now my back is totally ****ed. This happens to my back about once every 4 months, I wake up and can barely move.

Wooden Sticks was an incredible golf experience. From the minute we arrived and had our cars valet'd to playing the 18th at St. Andrews, what a phenomenal place. Conditions at the course were out of this world. We are already planning on returning in two weeks to use up our free round, I can't wait!

The 12th hole at Augusta, the green was about 11 yards from front to back. One of my friends make really good birdie, wedge to 3 feet.

The 13th at Augusta. The leaderboard back there was from the 2011 tournament and had C. Schwartzel as the winner, baller.

"Inspired by Pine Valley" - I hit a great third shot out of the left rough on this hole to setup a birdie, but I putted like garbage today and left this one short.

#1 St. Andrew's old Course - Hit a nice drive 40 yards left and almost made birdie here.

Postage Stamp hole - made an absolute mess out of this hole

"Inspired by Pine Valley"

#17 TPC Sawgrass - I hit a beautiful 9 iron to the back pin location, but hit the birdie putt like a chump. You can see my approach shot in the picture.

#18 at St. Andrews - This was a fun hole and a great way to finish. I lipped out yet another birdie here too.

btw,
#17 road hole at St. Andrew's I hit driver, 6 iron to about 25 feet and just barely missed the birdie putt. Also, as a joke my friend chipped one off the wall to a pin that was about 70 feet away, and got it to within 2 feet.

Yah, it's the same concept as world tour. I think it was 13 or 14 of the holes that were replica holes and the rest were unique to the course. It's a upper-scale course that I never thought i'd get to play as it's usually $200 or so, but we got a good deal this weekend. Probably one of the best conditioned courses i've ever played.

awesome pics spots.

Not sure about the grip but when I hit golf balls my ball rarely stays straight. it almost always curves the the far right. why is this fellas? is it my grip or stance or follow through or all 3?
