YEah, but I'm a giant pussy and have the swing set on Amateur. I do have the pros set to 100%, (very) high wind, hard fairways, and very hard greens. I win about 1 out of every 8 events or so.

Oh yeah, I leave the putting line on too. So I'm basically cheating.

Ha. I crushed it through amateur settings, but wanted a challenge so started a pro career with pro settings, three putt lines per round, "easy" competitor settings. Everything else average. Literally took me 15 rounds to get through Q-school, but then I KIND of hit a groove and ended up 15th in the FedEx Cup, with a bunch of missed cuts (playing two rounds per tournament). Playing through again with same settings, but "normal" competitor settings.

I've fallen into a rhythm that actually works with the driver...makes all the difference. That and figuring out chipping. Went from it being the worst part of my game to having a bunch of chip ins.

On what system? I like golf games. I might also be in the market for a new gaming system. The PS3 ain't cutting it anymore.

Xbox for me; I've always been xbox. This version is a bit different than past PGA games (except maybe the one before?)...much harder and more of a sim than prior PGA games where you could, e.g., change the spin in the middle of the ball flight. It's based on the ol' Golf Club.

Ha, yep. It's definitely more of a simulator, and it's kind of funny to read the complaints on, e.g., reddit. Rhythm, especially on pro settings, is difficult to master and if you are just a bit "off" that day the game changes drastically. I'll play one day and pipe everything straight down the middle, and the next day I can't hit a fairway.

I actually thought chipping was "broken" on the game until I realized it's very much like real golf in that each club has different run out. They only show you the estimated landing area as opposed to total distance.

I bought 2K20 last year after getting in to golf but not having played video games in like 15 years. I couldn't figure out the joystick swing thing so lol me.

Just saw Will get the pin pulled on a three-inch putt....never seen that before.

Also, please apologize to Will for the fact I bet on him.

I got this wrist tendinitis where it doesn’t let me bend it outside, so I was using this wrist brace which wraps around wrist and gives some stability while golfing. Since I started using that somehow I was hitting way better to my surprise, so I was wondering how that wrist brace helping my game

....goes to Walgreens to buy wrist brace....

Interesting. I'm guessing distance has to suffer though?

Gained a lot with my Driver, previously it used to be all carry, now I get lot of roll too and even gained distance with other clubs too.

Stopped keeping track of my hole-by-hole stats about a month ago. Actually shocked I made it as far as I did without giving up. One thing I will still keep track of on the year:

eagles: 11
albatross: 1

I believer my previous best for eagles in a season was 10 2 years ago. I have played more this year though too.

I had wrist tendonitis for a year or so, definitely consider taking a break to rehab it before it becomes tendonosis and is a nightmare to fix.

I would recommend the Bullseye Brace though in general, just amazon it.

Had my 5th holeout of the year from > 100 yards this week. Definitely the most hole outs I've had in a year ever by a long shot. Holed out from 105 for eagle on 18 at my course early in the year, 175 with a 9 iron number 12 at Castle Pines Golf Club, 124 on hole 2 at my course after punching out for eagle, number 5 from 123 in the US 4 ball qualifier, and last time out from 137 that spun back in about 30 feet on hole 6 at my course.

Now have 9 eagles/9 birdies in my best ball 45 at my course. Was so close to my first ever albatross earlier this year, half and half over the edge from 216. Only eagle I'll ever be sad about.

So my brother in law who lives in Charlotte and myself who lives in NJ are thinking of doing a golf weekend this winter. Florida seems like the most logical choice.

1) is this doable as 2 guys who shoot around 100?
2) any places you'd recommend? 2 or 3 nights max for this first trip

Very doable. One of these days you’ll figure out that most people actually suck at golf, nothing wrong with shooting 100 if you play the correct tees and play reasonably fast with decent etiquette.

Orlando seems like it would be a solid fit.

How much do you want to spend for a round of golf. I could point you to courses in any range of price.

I am an incredibly impatient person so play incredibly fast.

Is orlando a lock to be warm in Jan/Feb? That's my only concern.

I was thinking something like $500 to 2-3 rounds 2-3 nights out the door (course + lodging). My one brother in law has a baby on the way so it would just be 2 of us the first year so prob leaning towards 2 rounds 2 nights for starters.

Do you typically do packages? Or just a la carte book the course and hotel separately?
