Everyone remembers Spieth's failure but he is always up there at the Masters. I say pick him and then one of:

DJ
JT
Ricky
Koepka

No way Tiger isnt a top 4 pick for the Masters and might be the betting favourite (though I realize this isnt entirely accurate for odds).

He is the betting favorite but no way I would touch him right now. Let's see what happens in a few more weeks though.

Rose is the betting favorite. Tiger in a group of 5 guys as 2nd favorite.

I was thinking Jordan and DJ. Rory has to win there eventually I'd think

Not a chance in picking Tiger at this point

McIlroy is the consensus favorite according to Oddschecker.

I think Rory is as good a pick as any of the others. He will eventually play to his potential there and win by 3+, no reason it won't be this year with his focus on US events.

I'd book as much Spieth at 10-12:1 as I could find.

Rory is in the underperforming part of his career.

Spieth has the yips.

Harvey Penick’s Little Red Book and John Feinstein’s A Good Walk Spoiled are classics.

Dream Golf: The Making of Bandon Dunes. if you've never been, consider looking at the Bandon Dunes: Golf As It Was Meant To Be coffee table book but don't shell out the money for it.

George Gankas is a really good follow on instagram. He coaches Matthew Wolff and a lot of other top juniors

Can you give us some swing analysis of Matthew Wolf ?

Is this hope for old-guys-poor-swings ? Or does this demonstrate the more modern athletic player

Callaway Demo Day at the club today.

One slight issue was that the demo was set up at one end of the range and the regular range users were on the opposite side. I pinged the other people at 305 so I had to get a little creative with my aim.

Tried the Epic Flash SubZero. Was not impressed. I first started out with my shaft from the Rogue and didn't like it. Tried a couple other shafts and I know for sure I will not be upgrading. After I was done hitting I did find a Graphite Design AD BB7x which is my holy grail shaft if I ever find it for cheap. Threw it in my Rogue and immediately loved it.

What I really wanted to try out was the SubZero 3 wood. Tried it with the Hzrdus Smoke 70 gram shaft and liked it. Then switched to a Tensei White 70 TX shaft and immediately loved that combo. It is def a stout shaft and you can sure feel it when swinging it. my 260y number might get me to switch. My 13.5* Rogue SubZero 3 wood is longer but for gapping purposes I need a 15*. Also need something a little easier to hit off of the fairway.

There is a TaylorMade demo day next Friday and am kinda meh on their drivers so I might skip that one. Our giant demo day at the horse track is the end of the month. I want to try the Ping G410 and the Cobra F9.

It's not a poor swing, it's just an unorthodox backswing. It doesn't matter a ton how you get the club to the top, just look at dozens of PGA Tour players. What matters is how you bring it down and where the club is at impact. His swing is just a stronger, more athletic version of Jim Furyk's move.

There is one thing I don't like about his swing and that's his jumping at impact. It causes inconsistency and injury. Way too many instructors try to teach this. And that's why he'll never be as consistent as Furyk.

If the BB was in a driver at a Callaway demo day, it's not the real thing. Rather a proprietary version made for Callaway with much less carbon content. Same with the other shafts.

I play the BB in my driver(5S) and 3-wood(6S).

Like any thoughts on this from the people who really know the swing. This seems to be the best distillation of what GG teaches from what I can tell.

Anyone bought stuff on 2ndswing?

Their trade-in prices are decent, especially older stuff that's pretty worthless.

But what in the holy hell is with their prices on their used clubs? Their average clubs are like 10% off retail stores and I can find new on eBay cheaper.

i haven't used them before (in fact i've never heard of them before), but based on the random photos when looking for clubs for sale they appear to be some sort of ebay/craigslist aggregator site and probably mark up a small percentage on top to facilitate the purchase.

i suggest sites like callawaygolfpreowed and/or a google search with the specific club(s) you're looking for, including the word 'used'.

I know of them. Started with stores in MN and AZ. It's an actual store and not a compiler. Yeah if the prices are too high then I wouldn't buy from them either.

I haven’t noticed any particular issue with their pricing, when I’ve looked for clubs they were mostly comparable to other major eBay sellers. Ymmv tho
