When needed, which hasn’t been more than every other year. Sometimes 3+. Wear a glove so perhaps less sensitive to wear.

I probably regrip the set every 150 rounds or so, with driver and maybe a wedge here and there getting replaced separately since they get more use. Could probably go longer with long irons since I don't practice

ya about once a season with the multi compounds, probably over 200 rounds worth of play/practice. Same as Pete I do driver r and SW more often than others, probably 100 rounds worth for those. I dont play with the glove.

I have GP Tour Wraps and I play 2-4 times a week. I regrip every 2-3 years except driver gets it more frequently. I find myself replacing my SW before regripping just because the grooves get wore out.

I play standard Golf Pride tour velvet. I play around 120 rounds per year with maybe 30+ days of practice. I regrip about every 9 months or so or around 90 rounds. Driver I will regrip about every 6 months.

Any of you guys do a Club Champion fit ever?

I did the full bag yesterday after hearing about a Winter deal for January for $175..Loved it. Never been fitted really for any clubs other than when I first bought my irons 8-9 years ago when I started.

Which is why I went bc my irons were 8-9 years old and I want to get new ones but have some questions about what shaft I'd like as far as stiff graphite or steel, grams, etc.

I went in open minded but kind of leaning on the idea of getting One Length's either Cobras or something else, I tried a buddies and liked them..it just makes sense to me to hit one Length clubs but I wanted to build my own set and maybe go 4,5,6 in one length, then 7,8,9,P in a slightly shorter length. Then just use regular wedges.

Anyway from getting fitted off the bat the whole one length idea was basically thrown out the window. I did hit the Cobra King's very well with a shaft that agreed with me but I hit the Rogue's better and thats what we settled on. I'm not a huge callaway guy but I don't really care I liked hitting them and hit em the purest, straightest, and best spin/trag/distance so I'm not complaining.

I guess I'm here looking for some feedback on my fit. I plan to email or call my fitter with more questions before I purchase anything and I might even go back for another strictly iron fit to dial it all in since I live in NJ and I'm not really in a rush bc snows comin and it's basically simulator sessions until April and I can live with my old set up, I've already bought a $300 Spider putter that I'm gona just give away or sell so I don't want to get my irons wrong by impulse buying.

A little about my swing before I fire away questions:

After lie and loft adjustment my Trackman data is below with a 6i

83.7 av club speed, 119.8 av ball speed, 1.43 smash, -4.1 attack angle, 19.4, 6077 spin rate, 168 carry, 174.2 total.

That data is all with the KBS $-Taper Stiff - BLACK PVD, and the Rogue's are what felt the best and were the most consistent out of about 7-10 swings.

I didn't try the Rogue Pro's which I'm pretty upset about because I didn't know they existed.
I tried the i500s, Taylor Mades, Titlists, Mizunos, and a few others all I didn't really like.. I never tried the Epic's I probably should have as well bc I'm sure their similar.

I currently have the Taylor Made Burner 1.0's so I think any upgrade will turn my 7.4 handicap into at least a consistent 7.4 bc I still have my share of 90s here and there.. My irons are def a big hole in my game my GIR is prob around 30-40% a round.

Questions regarding my fit:

Should I go back for an hour and dial in this KBS $-Taper Stiff shaft with different clubs?

I would like to try to Rogue Pro's because I do want to move the ball around the course and I'm afraid the Rogue's might not allow me to do that.

If I really love the Rogues according to my fit would it be a good idea to maybe get the 4i in a Rogue X, apparently those are super forgiving and long so if I can bomb that thing 230 then I won't need a hybrid. Then I can get the regular Rogues in 5,6,7 and get Rogue Pros in 8,9,P,A.

Another question: Would it be really dumb to make the 4,5,6 in a 37 inch length, and the 7,8,9 in a 36.50, and P,A in 35.50 or something along those lines.

Club Champion prices are so much different from looking online, whats the catch?

I can find the $-Taper shafts for $45 online and club would charge me $90. The PUREing is an additional $30
-I guess they put grips on for me tho so maybe they're honest with the price of $90?

Is PURE'ing really worth it? I mean $30x10 is basically the shaft I'm probably going to buy for my driver/3w that I was fitted for that added 10-15 yards.

Is Club Champion honest?
-Can I get away with shopping for all the items they listed for me cheaper on my own or will they not be the same

Can you buy shafts online from another distributor like Amazon or something and have them PUREed by Club Champion or is PUREing part of the whole building of the shaft process?

I'm not super cheap I love me some golf and I pretty much only spend my money on golf **** so I def want to do the right thing, I'm more focused on getting everything super dialed in but I just want to reassure myself that club champion isn't hosing me for some of the stuff on their list. A complete bag setup is $3400 I was not expecting that esp when I'm keeping my own driver head and 3w head

I think that's all I got, lota rambling but I duno many golf forums and no matter what I do I'm sure I'll be pretty happy with a new set of any clubs

If you can get the same price then I say why not. Otherwise you will be asking questions constantly.

I often thought about that. It would be worth exploring IMO.

GEnerally from what I gather is because they order you the clubs, then the shafts and grips separately. I would try to get the shafts that they "don't use" to try and recoup some money.

I asked this exact question myself and the response I received back is YES it is worth it.

Also I have $350 in Pro Shop credit I have to use before October, is there anything I can order off that list through the Pro Shop? Maybe the putter or one of the shafts, or do I want to order the putter from Club Champion so they can get the loft and lie I was fitted to?

Around here when you go get fit, you get all your numbers/lofts/lies and can take it anywhere to have it ordered. By paying for the fitting I'm assuming they are giving you this info? Any decent shop should be able to build it for you, so go where is cheapest.

The iron shaft prices seem way too high to me. I just don't understand why they can't just order the clubs with those shafts already in them. It looks like they are available.

They also jammed you into the most expensive shaft offerings for woods too.

At the end of the day if you have the money and it's not a big deal to you go ahead and order from them. I know that's what I did with my irons.

You can def get the putter from someone else. Just get the specs and bring it to any golf store and they can bend it to the loft and lie you desire.

Yeah you're right.. I can go on the Callaway website and get the Rogues w/ the same shaft I was fitted for $1200 opposed to 2043.21 that Club Champion would charge.

If I were to get my clubs from Callaway would I be able to go to Club Champion to have the irons PURE'ed after the clubhead and grips are on?

So I lost my damn sensor for Game Golf today. It has a little clip and I put inside my pants pocket and the clip is showing outside. Guess I should have left the whole thing in my pocket. Now I get to find out how much a replacement costs. If it's too much then I guess I am done with it already.

i don't know if it's just the editing, but there's something weird that happens between 94 & 95 or 95 & 96. i was watching the balls click down and it appears the ball count doesn't change for two consecutive putts. either way, it's very interesting to see the consistency he has with every aspect of his putts....foot/leg/back/head position and how his arms/shoulders hit pretty much the same exact spot every time.

the first 60 to 70 putts are all over the place in terms of entry point to the cup. surprised none of them missed.

but after that every single putt that i saw was dead center and the exact same

makes me think it wasn't a serious drill but a fun meme (or whatever it's called)

scott - i was thinking about this a little more and it made me wonder if you lost the sensor mid round shouldn't you be able to find it based on the stats it gathered up until the point it was lost? it seems the data output would map things while you still had it and then stop when you lost it. seems like you should be able to find the sensor by tracing the path you walked between your last mapped shot and the next shot that wasn't mapped.

If the fit is right there is no reason to go back for an hour and try the shafts in different clubs. You wouldn't be able to any way since all they have is shafts built for 6-irons.

7.4's have zero reason to try to move the ball around, stay away from the Rogue Pro's.

If you go with a Rogue X 4 hybrid you will then have a huge hole between that and your 5-iron which causes issues.

It would be very dumb to try any sort of single/double length irons. You don't generate enough club head speed to make it work in addition to other issues.

The difference in iron shaft prices are mutlifold, but the price you have been quoted is a little high but reasonable for an installed shaft.

SST PUREing is worth it. Make sure you get the results emailed to you.

Club Champion is honest, it's just that many of their fitters suck.

If you try to cut corners your build is going to suck for various reasons I will get into answering questions below.

$3400 is actually somewhat cheap for a custom built set up clubs. I've seen plenty of bags over $5000 and a handful over $6k.

Only option is the putter since any dealer can order it with the desired length, lie, and loft.

This is horrible advice and also untrue. A proper build includes making sure everything is built to spec, matching swing weights and such is much more difficult than most think.

Furthermore, if you don't order shafts direct from the manufacturer, you won't get the actual shaft. Rather a watered down version made specifically for various club manufacturers.

You don't want your clubs built by the cheapest guy around.

See above. The KBS shafts Callaway offers for no upcharge cost next to nothing to manufacture because it's a totally different manufacturing process. Why do you think it's a no upcharge shaft?

They did not jam him into the most expensive. Try the Oban Airburst at $750 or various shafts at $500.

See above. It would actually be more expensive to do it this way and the quality of the shaft would suck.

There are a lot of misconceptions involved with custom fitting which hopefully I have addressed. It is expensive in comparison to buying off the rack and not for everybody, but they are awesome assuming you have been properly fitted and the build is good.

Note - when I'm not playing I work in a Golf Digest Top 100 Fitters facility.
