i've thought of buying the orange whip. agree it seem expensive. makes alot of sense.

have seen some competing products much much cheaper. and on big sites (A.com for one) so legit products i assume.

is there alot of stuff online as to how to use the orange whip most effectively?

i had tremendous success with kalasy's (sp?) swing magic. but again, $50-$60 for a something like a small cardboard toilet paper roll on a 7 iron. something you could make yourself for nothing and get 80% of benefit.... don't get wrong, doubt you could make your own effective orange whip.

Orange whip seems to be very well built and durable (so far), holding it I can easily see why it costs what it does. Seems about right it should cost as much as a single iron or wedge.

Yeah I've seen some cheaper knockoffs from SKLZ and some other companies that are about half the price, but I think the Orange whip seems to have the best balance and is the best-made of the bunch. Will probably ask Santa for one.

the other thing about the Whip is it's easy to swing it from the opposite side of your normal golf swing (swing left if your a righty, etc) to help balance out dominate and subordinate muscle development. you'll likely feel like an 8th grade girl trying to throw a football left-handed but there can be some benefit.

I swing it back and forth for about 10 reps (one of the exercises indicated in the manual). Really helps make sure your balance is good or else your swing back will be lol. First time I did this I realized I had a few muscles on my other side I had never used the next day.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat needed to T5 or better to get into the year end OWGR top 50 and secure a Masters invite and he eagled the 72nd hole to do so; pretty legit. He was battling lower back pain earlier in the round; had a trainer wrenching on him on the 7th tee or something.

I kept seeing on twitter over the weekend there was an exhibition in Aruba with guys from the Latin American tour and Canadian tour playing a Ryder Cup style event and it wasn't covered; I know the GC folks need a break too, but dang what a fun TV event that could be. Potential future stars, and tropical locales are right up the GCs alley...

Re: Orange whip,

what length are you guys using and like best if tried different ones? Middle length sold out from my stores, think that´s the one I´d want. And yea product seems like what I could use for sure.

Thx Goose, okay might try the driver as well, that´s the one I need most help with. The promos I saw were saying that it´s the most difficult and pros use that one or somesuch, so was not sure.

Some guy just finished playing all 359 existing Donald Ross courses in the U.S.

I almost think I'd rather do that than play the top 100. Almost. But if you tell me I can't get on Augusta or Pine Valley then I think I definitely would take the Ross list instead.

I'd still take the top 100. I have played a couple of Donald Ross designs (Belleair CC in Clearwater (oldest course in FL) and Pine Needles in NC) and they are not exactly my favorite. Table top greens that are impossible to hold, and I am a high ball, high spin player that should be able to hold them.

By my quick-and-dirty count I've played 8 of the 359 and enjoyed every one of them. I like the challenge of the greens and haven't found it overly difficult to hold them, though I don't generate much spin.

I definitely need to take a road trip to the Northeast one of these days.
