Lol, Lexi nearly falls over hitting a wedge, ball ends up a foot from the hole. It never ceases to be entertaining.

Watching on BBC with Peter Alliss, time to retire ffs. Calling Lexi a 'home player'. Not attempting names like Jutanugarn, calling her AJ. Getting Jang and AJ mixed up even when the graphic is displayed with their name on the screen. Most amateurish golf broadcast ever. Alliss thinking Lexi is British is unforgivable lol.

Funny how PC the BBC are usually, and then let a guy who supports women not being to be members at Muirfield commentate on women's golf.

That said, Jutanugarn playing so good, hope she gets her first major.

Not a fan of the course. Just doesn't seem like a Open

lol, the starter is making progress, he's getting close to pronouncing Jutanagarn properly.

Every time Catorina Mathew is in contention all I can think is man, she looks like Pat Summit.

First So Yeon sighting in days!

Ariya lapping the field. No drama unless someone gets nuclear hot real soon.

Mo Martin just hit a full driver on a short par 4 and hit it 210.

Grinder.

Just imagine how straight she has to hit it along with a short game to do what she does.

Oh dear Ariya. Judy is right, she doesn't always hold it together under pressure.

Ariya's a lot of fun to watch imo. Never liked the women's game much, now I'll definitely watch it.

She has such impressive power and an underrated short game. So much talent at the top of the LPGA rankings.

I had to leave (tee time ldo) just when she messed up and Mirim got to within one, nice to see she held it together.

I noticed her missing a low of fairways with the 2 iron. Not sure how tight the course was but if you are gonna miss you might as well hit driver (or maybe 3 wood) right?

Not necessarily. Quite a few of the fairways ended at a distance that would discourage hitting driver/3w for someone with Ariya's length, with really sloped awkard lies, tree trouble, etc if you went long. It wasn't a course especially conducive to bomb-and-gouge.

Also, according to LPGA.com she hit 12/14, 11/14, 11/14 and 10/14 fairways (total 44/56) with an average driving distance of 250.4.

Mirim Lee hit 39/260.1. Mo Martin 43/235.6. Stacy Lewis 41/239.4. Lexi 37/262.4. Ciganda 33/264.9. S.Y. Kim 34/264.1.

For that kind of fairway percentage the "lack" of distance seems like a reasonable tradeoff to me.

Back in April I wrote who I thought were the biggest surprises & disappointments of the year. The LPGA had only played 8 tournaments at that point. So much has changed since then. The LPGA has now played 22 of its 33 tournaments, and I think it is time to take another look.

That kind of surprised me. I was bouncing back and forth and it seemed like every time i saw her drive she missed the fairway. Granter her 2 iron misses were barely off the fairway but you would think if you are pulling an iron you would hit the fairway every time. Bumps and rolls out on the fairway can do that though too.

Paula Creamer Photo Gallery (30th Birthday Celebration)

Although the LPGA is taking a break from tournament play for a few weeks during the Olympics, the past weekend was a very busy one for some players.

With the LPGA in the middle of a one month Olympic break, it is a good time to look over some of the key player statistics through the first 22 tournaments (2/3 of the season is now completed) of the year.

Just put in my volunteer application for the CME Championship. In order of preference for jobs I put:

Standard Bearer
Carts/Shuttles (driving players between holes where there is a long distance)
Driving Range
