Oh dear Natalie Gulbis is speaking at the Republican National Convention next week. I just can't wait to hear her tell us about how Koreans took her jerb.

We all know why Trump picked her. He certainly wasn't going with Meg Mallon.

i completely agree..........

shocks me that players never call themselves on ball moving in rough when they address it. it must happen.

Hyo Joo Kim just making zero mistakes.

Good to see Stacy making a run, though she's gotta be kicking herself for not making birdie on either 17 or 18.

what happened? i thought rafferty ?? said goodbye from the tourney.

ok, over on golf channel it looks like.

if you don't know, ariya, lydia and some korean girl on 3rd playoff hole....not exactly golf excellence so far.

playing a par 5 over and over again must favour ariya.

Not as much when she is forced to tee off with an iron because the fairway runs out, but yes. Playoff has been an exercise in futility.

3 women times par 5 three times = zero birdies...

Lydia is a lovely lady too,a credit to her folks. She donates her weeks purse on occasion if the cause tickles her fancy. She has started a craze here in New Zealand among the young girls who were not the right size and shape for womens' Netball (Netball is a popular game in Commonwealth countries, the English prolly introduced it ) US readers have most likely no idea what the game is so i suggest the magic we know as Google and all shall be revealed.

Lydias' list of accomplishments will indeed be something to behold when she finally hangs up her caddy, hell look at it already, and her amateur career will be a hard thing to emulate let alone eclipse

I think in Lydia that we are seeing the best there is ever going to be in womans golf,as with her pre Pro days, whatever records she sets are going to be around for many years after she retires. Imagine what sort of a colossis it would take to surpass her being so much of a BOSS!

Just now,on this news on TV bulletin, Lydia is picked in our Kiwi Team for the Olympics Golf. I must say that for a small country we have a solid lineup for said event, and with so many top 10 in mens not playing we are a rough chance. Danny Lee has won on tour, as a pro, plus he was world Amateur #1 when he turned pro , so he is no slouch he also had a terrific swing,in fact it compelled Gary Player to comment on what a thing of beauty it is (High praise indeed,) and that was before Danny was yet to win on tour, mebbe it was when he was still amateur, damn i can't quite recall which but he def said it.
As for the other member of our squad, Ryan Fox is the son of a current All Black selector, the former All Black great first-five eighth (or fly-half if you are Northern Hemisphere) Grant Fox. I wonder what the line on them is on Paddys etc??? Gunna take a look, i think i shall chance my arm and have a wager.

did lydia and danny both grow up in NZ?

i would think danny will be shorter odds than you'll like for the olympics... olympics are different as entries are restricted by country. not sure how much. but good chance at least 40% of the field will have little chance - maybe that would be more womens than mens.

a canadian swimmer friend of mine was frustrated as he could do olympic qualifying time but most of the swimmers at olympics were slower than him....... i thought though - didn't tell him - that if they took everyone who could do the qualifying times it would be hundreds of americans, germans, australians etc...

the whole olympic idea is wide representation by country not making the most competitive events.

It was interesting seeing the contrast in styles - Ariya and Mirim kept ripping it to get as close to the green as possible, Lydia leaving it further back and having a fuller shot in.

But yeah, not exactly a ringing endorsement for the short games.

This week the LPGA takes a break from its official tournament schedule, for the playing of the International Crown. This is a biennial event that will take place in even numbered years, as opposed to the Solheim Cup's odd numbered years. It is a global matchplay competition that will feature 8 countries battling for the rights to be called "The World's Best Golf Nation."

Here is my preview & much more.

Mel Reid playing a four-ball by herself and is all square with 5 to play. She just now holed out a wedge for eagle. Apparently Charley Hull is too ill to play today. I've never seen a single go it alone in a team match before.
