Women's British Open this weekend. Currently watching round 1 replay on ESPN3.

I cannot begin to describe how much I love ESPN3.

They just showed a graphic listing all the past winners who are in the field ... first on the list: Yani Tseng ... with a Korean flag next to her name. LOL intern FAIL.

Watching the replay last night got kind of tilting. #17 was playing super short (<450 yards, par 5) so pretty much everyone hit it on the green in 2. Pin was front so almost all putts were from behind the hole - which meant a pretty good downhill putt then back uphill right before the hole. Player after player after player left it short. W. T. F.

Anyway, one of the great things about this event is waking up for early morning coverage, got to see some before going in to work. Looked like super benign conditions - no wind, no rain - so not exactly Carnasty.

Girl I know just moved to round two of LPGA Q-school qualifying.

She didn't do very well in any of the events she's played in thus far, one sponsor's exemption into the ShopRite and qualified for the US Open.. I'm hoping she can keep her stuff together and get used to the pressure because she's pretty darn good.

So 17 is a long-iron/long-iron Par 5 and then Tseng hits driver - SW into 18? I just don't get it. Same **** all week, why aren't they able to adjust the golf course when it's playing so ridiculously easy.

I liked on 18 how they kinda questioned Tseng hitting driver off the box. Well, it's not 100 yards back and the men's tees, she can bomb it over everything with driver. They completely eliminated all the trouble on that tee shot having the box where it was. Great golf hole resigned to a Driver-wedge hole for what reason? You're playing Carnoustie, it's supposed to be difficult.

Also I didn't realize how big Michele Wie's drop-off has been. There was a time where she was seemingly in the top-10 in every major as a 15 year old. She's finished in the top-10 just 4 times in a dozen events this year.

The LPGA really needs her to get back to the elite player she was, the tour has to be struggling with the virtual anonymity of their winners lately.

Poor Caroline Masson. -15 through the first three days, +8 on her first 16 holes today before birdieing the last two. Oof.

I don't remember seeing any weather all week. Every time they showed a weather graphic is was in the mid 60s with a very light breeze. No cold, no rain, no wind and Carnoustie becomes Deer Forest Municipal.

I think VHurst has to be a lock. I can count the number of McPherson's top tens this year on my antlers. At least Futcher has a top 5 in a major (her only top 10).

Yeah I'm not saying I'd pick McPherson but I think Rosie Jones will. Experience edge over Futcher.
