This week the LPGA moves to Taiwan for the playing of the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship.
We can only hope for as exciting a finish as we had last year, when Inbee Park held off a charging Stacy Lewis and won by 2 strokes. Inbee will not be defending her title.
This week the LPGA tour moves to China for the playing of the Blue Bay LPGA. Last year was the inaugural playing of this event, and it was cut to 54 holes because of bad weather. Lee-Anne Pace was victorious by 3 shots over Caroline Masson.
This week the LPGA moves to Japan for the playing of the Toto Japan Classic. This is the LPGA's last stop on the 2015 Asian swing. This tournament is 54 holes.
This week the LPGA moves to Mexico for the playing of the Lorena Ochoa Invitational Presented by Banamex. Many of you may remember last year's exciting and unlikely finish, when Christina Kim defeated Shanshan Feng in a playoff.
This week the LPGA moves to the state of Florida for the playing of the CME Group Tour Championship. This is the final tournament on the 2015 schedule. Many of you may remember last year's exciting finish when in a 3 way playoff, Lydia Ko came out victorious over Carlota Ciganda and Julieta Granada. Lydia not only won the $500,000 first prize, but also won the "Race to the CME Globe" bonus of 1 million dollars!
July 24th is the last date in the U.S. before the CME in November. That's a lot of travel for the bottom tier of players who play every week. That leads me to another question, for the Asia swing are they getting free airfare and lodging? If you look at 70th on the money list that's $189k. If you have to pay for airfare and hotel (for you and caddy) that cuts into that amount pretty significantly.
