Thanks for posting Stinky. So the referee did verbalize that the hole was halved.

This article is a must read for ppl who have been following this saga.

If Jack Nicklaus will forever be remembered for the great concession giving a putt to Tony Jacklin that ended the 1969 Ryder Cup in a draw (the U.S. retained the cup), Pettersen seemed destined Sunday night to be remembered for the great anti-concession. While Nicklaus will be remembered for the sportsmanship he showed, Pettersen seemed destined to be remembered for the lack of sportsmanship in the phantom concession.

Makes zero sense for Lee to apologize to anyone other than her team/captain(s). Illogical. She didn't cheat (not saying Euro cheated, just that Lee didn't cheat). She didn't display poor sportsmanship.

Well, I don't think she knowingly tried to take an advantage.

Was she warned prior to that incident to not pick up putts? If so, she deserves a lot more criticism. She seems to pick it up awfully quickly. That was not a 100% gimme on the 17th hole of a tied match.

I think Hull deserves more blame too. It seems unjust that Pettersen is getting so much scorn. She made it that way unfortunately by defending her actions so vehemently.

don't know how reliable it is, but i read on twitter that she was warned twice about picking up putts early.

did the golf channel ever say why they didn't come on the air early sun morning? i set my dvr to record early and they aired saturday's pga and web.com replays over the conclusion of the solheim matches.

Inaccurate in the statement that Hull and the caddies walked off and calls the referee a liar. The referee said in an interview that he was looking at Hull an Pettersen to see if they conceded, so wouldn't have announced that the hole was halved. Someone does shout "halves the hole" or something like that in the background though, presumably not the referee. The referee also states that, in his opinion, no one on the euro side indicated there was a half so the rules experts quoted in the article are wrong, as Masseli obviously knew he had discretion, but concluded that nothing done on the euro side could have been interpreted as implying concession.

The referee interview is half way down this page:

Except Hull does walk off, giving the impression that the putt was conceded. If you aren't going to give the putt, you don't move. That's because, if you start walking toward the next hole, the gallery will start moving.

What's most odd to me is the fact that Petterson herself has come out and admitted she was completely wrong in this situation, yet some people are still trying to defend her.

What's most odd to me is, firstly, you seriously think she apologized because she thinks she's wrong and not because it was basically the only choice she had given the backlash?

And secondly - we all saw the incident and have our own opinions on it. Why on earth should Pettersens apology change what anyone else thinks of the situation?

No one needs to change their opinion of the situation, just know that your opinion is wrong.

lol so since the mob dispersed, we have discovered that Lee picked up only because she thought she heard someone saying the putt was good and not because of Hull walking, that Lissicombe shouted "don't pick up" as she knew no one had conceded, despite Hull's walking and being able to see Pettersen and that the referee confirmed that no one on the euro side conceded.

It was a mistake from Lee and Pettersen has apologised for extracting an unmerited advantage from that mistake. Lee should now apologise to Pettersen for causing the incident.

Lee has no reason to apologize publicly. I'm sure she apologized to her team and that is really all that she needed to do.

This was incredibly scummy of the Euros, not really sure why people are arguing it is not.

With the LPGA nearing the end of its longest break of the year, it's a good time to take a look at the key player statistics after the first 24 tournaments of the year. Only 7 tournaments remain on the 2015 schedule, so the race for the major awards is really heating up.

After a three week break from tournament play, the LPGA resumes its schedule this week with the playing of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia. Shanshan Feng will be trying to defend the title she won last year when she shot a final round 63 to best Pornanong Phatlum by 3 strokes.

I don't usually write about the Symetra Tour, but this one is important as 10 players will earn their 2016 LPGA full time playing cards at the end of this tournament.

Here is a summary of those fighting for those cards:

This week the LPGA moves to South Korea for the playing of the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship. Many of you may remember last year's exciting finish when Q-Baek defeated Inn Gee Chun and Brittany Lincicome in a playoff.

Here are the Key details:
