Hadn't really checked out this thread (I haven't had any players on the LPGA Tour over the past couple years), but I have a student playing in the US Open this weekend. It sounds like a lot of you watch some LPGA so if you're checking out the Open, look for her. Her name is Mariah Stackhouse, she's 17 & being billed (unfairly) as the "female Tiger Woods." Her track record is amazing - 186 tournaments, 166 top 10, 98 wins, and this is her first Open. She probably doesn't have the length to compete yet, but she's there, so who knows? She has the honor of being the first group of #1, so that's pretty cool.
I just wanted to throw out a "Good Luck" to her, as it's a big week for us!
Great to see O'Toole doing well, and bad break for NBC because the relevant coverage was ending as they came on air and starting again when they finished. Hopefully they'll ge through round three tonight and in the AM to finish on time. It's on ESPN2 at 9AM ET tomorrow.
Very happy to see that there will be TV in the morning. I would say that NBC is feverishly hoping that Creamer or Lewis makes a charge but let's be honest, the general public doesn't care.
O'Toole and Lewis paired together ... I expect the third member of that group (Lizette Salas) to get exactly 0 seconds of TV exposure.
I thought I heard on the coverage yesterday that Amy Anderson, the amateur from North Dakota who shot -2 in round 1, is going to be a junior at North Dakota State. She is, and tomorrow is her 19th birthday.
slept through morning coverage hope the bad weather holds off...its hot and i hate my swing right now so instead of playing i will sit on the couch and watch Ryann and Paula :nomnomnom:
