Well, considering that the last 3 events and 4 of the last 5 have been won by caucasian non-Asians, that may be premature.

It's really a shame that there isn't a Solheim Cup level competition pitting the U.S. (or better yet North America, we get Brooke and Lopez and Fassi) against Korea. The UL International Crown is a fun event but we need a one-on-one event with bigger teams.

Yeah - I just read that the last 11 women's majors have had 11 different winners.

It definitely seems that there is quite a bit of depth and some good parody on the tour currently. Purses keep going up - good time to be a world class lady golfer!

Some people on the internet find that frustrating or upsetting or feel like somehow the universe isn't giving us greatness. Having players like Hannah Green or Pernilla Lindberg win majors as their first LPGA win somehow demeans the majors.

Personally, I don't see it. Green played terrific golf to win. She overcame her lack of length and crooked driving with a stellar approach game and great putting -- okay the putting wasn't as great on Sunday, but whatever. She did a great job controlling her nerves. She beat all the names, and there were a lot of them in contention.

I agree that it's a great time for the women's game and the future looks bright.

Completely unrelated: Was it just my imagination or were there about a million commercials during the NBC broadcasts? It seemed like they were "playing through" a commercial break about every three shots. I guess I got spoiled by Fox's coverage.

If I remember correctly, they said on the broadcast that Stacy Lewis is the only American player to win the Walmart. On to Wisconsin, will someone shoot -35 this week?

Many of my readers may remember last year when Sei Young Kim set a new LPGA all-time record, when she shot an amazing 31 under par. That total was nine shots better than runner up Carlota Ciganda.

That's going to be a great event. Strength of field will be pretty good, but there are a name or two on the list already that I do not recognize with 24 more teams to come. IIRC there is at least one spot for a team of locals/qualifiers/non tour pros (I forget exactly what).
