The LPGA moves to the state of Michigan this week for the playing of the Meijer LPGA Clasic presented by Kraft.

The LPGA returned to Michigan last year for the first time since 2000, and it did so in spectacular fashion. In a very exciting finish, Mirim Lee defeated Inbee Park in a playoff.

Here are the key details:

Bummed I'm out of town for the Portland Classic this year. Previous years the entries haven't been that great, but pretty much everyone is coming this year, including Inbee Park, Ko, Stacy Lewis, Suzann Pettersen, Paula, Michelle, and Lexi. Would be fun to see, and also fun to see local amateur Gigi Stoll, who is playing at Arizona last year and shot a 63 at the qualifier.

Hoping to maybe catch some of the final round.

I totally geeked out when I was working at Seaview during the Shopright Classic one year and I broke one of my personal professionalism codes and went up to Ai Miyazato while I was working and got her autograph while she was lounging in the foyer area of the hotel with her crew one night. I felt like such an ass bothering her but she seemed really happy to have a fan. This was like, 2006- or 7-ish

I have played that course before. Brutally hard rough.

8 Americans in the top 10, including 6 out of the top 7? What is this, 1987?

Crazy how big of a divot Lexi takes with short irons and wedges.

Over/Under on how long her career lasts with that swing? She is already developing wrist issues with it.

It will be on hold for a year at least the first time she makes that swing not knowing a tree root is under her ball

There must have been a Korean holiday this week or something.

As it turns out, Ko, Pettersen, Matthew and some of the other usual suspects were getting ready for this week by playing the Scottish Ladies Open.

Which is good for them, as it appears the airlines have already lost Brittany Lincicome's luggage and Stacy Lewis's clubs on the flight across the pond.

No such problem for Paula Creamer though:

Jessica Korda had her clubs lost too for some time but they arrived later in the day apparently. I had my clubs take a vacation to Cancun one me once when I was in Houston. Luckily they arrived in time for the round. How often does this happen to pros? Seems way too much.

They are missing out on a chance to land a sponsor with ship sticks or something.

Chocolate and toffee. Similar to a Skor bar if you ever heard of that.

They said on the broadcast yesterday that she hurt her wrist doing a Golf Digest cover shoot. Not sure if it involved taking any divots.

The LPGA moves to Scotland this week for the playing of the RICOH Women's British Open. This will be the third time in the last 5 years that the tournament will be held in Scotland. It was held in Carnoustie in 2011, and in St. Andrews in 2013.

Same old same old for Michelle Wie, WD-injury.

Scores were about 5 shots harder with the wind on Friday, with #16, a 372 yd par 4, playing about at 5.00 stroke average. Dozens of rounds in the 80s, and late finisher Maria Hjorth somehow shoots a bogey free 66, the best round of the day by 3, and 13 shots better than her opening round in much easier conditions!

Look out for Lydia obv, T2 and in good shape for her first major.
