Warning, nittery incoming.

Henley had already played in 2 U.S. Opens before winning the Sony in 2013. It was his first event as a PGA Tour member but not his first PGA Tour event.

There are tons of pros who never compete in a PGA Tour event, but it's fairly uncommon that one makes their professional debut on the PGA Tour. Just for the college studs who get sponsor's invites immediately after college.

Nittery over. All great wins.

not surprising you each pointed out the other's phrasing weak spots in this debatable discussion between posts.
i do applaud BO for recognizing his tendency for nittery, and i also appreciate the trivia provided by the both of ya

In fact Crenshaw did not win his first event as a pro. He played in 3 events in August, 1973, prior to winning the October 1973 q-school competition by 12 shots. In November of that year he won the Texas Open in his first PGA Tour appearance as a PGA Tour member.

It's possible Gamez played as a pro prior to winning 1990 Tucson, but I see no record of it. He finished T37 in the 1989 q-school.

There have been multiple players who have won on their first LPGA Tour appearance, but these players had already become and competed as a professional. This was the primary reason why the media did not consider those as fair comparisons, and had to go all the way back to 1951 to highlight the rarity of Zhang's accomplishment.

Brooke battled back for a 1 under. Be cool to see the yardage differences on each hole compared to when the men play there

Evidently not very well I scored zero.

I like watching the ladies, but I swear I didn't recognize 80% of the names of the ladies in the last US Open. The turnover from year to year seems way higher than the PGA.

40-55 range. I used to follow a lot more when I gambled on it a couple of years ago.

Yikes on that Lexi chip on 18

coverage has been awful

we're stuck w the feed from the broadcast company that owns the LET contract

for too many putts, you can't even tell where the hole is

yeah, really disappointing coverage. it's like watching a putting contest.
Grant and Ciganda have been on the winning side in 3 out of 4 matches (obviously only loss on the first day). Curious if one or both of them will either lead off or play anchor tomorrow.

Think it was the same feed everywhere. An utterly clueless director randomly moving about the golf course, no screen graphics a lot of time.

also hated when they showed (at least w the USA graphics) someone putting but didn't list who their opponent was in the same graphic

NBC also had a dude interview ppl after the matches and only about 80% of the audio feed made it through to the viewers during the interviews

very happy Lexi buried that putt on #17 to win her match. she had an excellent Cup (3 pts from 4) and her psyche will be in place in two yrs in Virginia

obv Lexi's win also meant USA didn't lose this Cup. the girls can be relieved that they didn't lose

How well have your favorite LPGA players done this year?

Have they been a pleasant Ssurprise or a major disappointment?
