Are the 2022 LPGA Rookies the best ever?

Can they be as good as the 2015 group?

Family friend is caddying for Bianca Pagdanganan.
Looking forward to following her journey.
We will be going to watch her when they play Aviara.

Now that's a great gig, hope the friend sticks. Bianca is going to be a Star.

I haven't had a chance to watch the HSBC yet, looking forward to catching up over the weekend off the DVR.

6 shot lead for Kupcho, not bad for a major. I don't see her losing it but you never know.

Mark down a 67 for Minjee tomorrow and a backdoor top 10.

it’s still pretty early in the season as the LPGA has completed about 25% of its 2022 schedule, but I don’t think it is too early to take a look at some of the players with results that have been the biggest surprises and biggest disappointments of the year so far.

Most anti-climatic finish in a while yesterday, Hataoka had it on cruise control and nobody could get anywhere close.

Still enjoyed watching, Wilshire is a weird but fun old course.

Michelle Wie West stepping away from playing the LPGA after Pine Needles, says the only other event on her schedule is the U.S. Open next year at Pebble Beach.

Was able to watch most of the coverage of the first round of the U.S. Open last night off the DVR. Long-time fan of Pine Needles and it's just impressive as hell that the players were going that low. Mina Hariage had 9 birdies in her round! Making a hard course look well not that hard. I suspect they'll toughen it up for the weekend.

I'm probably not ever in the market for a luxury timepiece but if I am it's going to be a Rolex as a thank you for their sponsorship of interrupted coverage. So great to not have commercial breaks every three minutes.

Kang IMPLOSION!

I played Pine Needles around 5 years ago. I liked the layout, especially the back 9.

Kudos to my fave on LPGA tour, Minjee Lee. A check for $1.8 large I'm guessing is the most ever for a ladies event? Either way, she is playing like a #1 now. The talent was always there IMO, but she seems to have settled into a mindset that allows her to play at her best.

I can't recall Mina Harigae ever winning, but $1 million for second has to be her best day ever on a golf course.

Dominating win and a second major definitely validates Minjee, she has to be mentioned in the same elite tier right now as Jin Young Ko and Nelly Korda. I haven't checked the rankings but I would expert her to be #2 after the win but who knows it may even be enough to make her #1.

There was a pretty solid interview with her brother during the broadcast, don't think I'd ever heard him interviewed before (which mostly means I mute interviews).

Harigae has never won but yes, confirmed that the payout for 2nd is by far her biggest. If I heard it right yesterday 7th place was getting paid more than next week's winner will get.

They finally set up the course like a U.S. Open on Sunday. It was close on Saturday and definitely set up much easier the first two days. I get some of the reasons why -- rounds still took forever, for one -- but you still want to see the players challenged.

watched a good chunk of the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed final round this morning. i really enjoy that format: 50/50 split women and men, hosted by Annika and Henrik Stenson
Linn Grant (also Swedish) starts the final round with a two stroke lead over Jason Scrivener and three strokes over co-host Stenson. she then proceeds to blister the first six holes -5 and finishes the round -8 (with a share of the course record) and the tourney -24, nine strokes clear of Stenson in second place. she honestly had three or four other solid looks at birdie.

she's been pro less than a year and also won her last tourney (the Belgian Ladies Open). i don't see much anything wrong with her game, solid all around and obviously the pressure didn't matter. keep an eye on her, i think she's going places.

Absolutely STACKED leader board heading into Sunday at the Meijer.

I almost regret that I have a tee time and Father's Day stuff tomorrow, it's going to be a beautiful day and a massive shootout at Blythefield. Would be fun to go.

another Lexi major lead meltdown incoming?

up 2 strokes putting for par from 2' on #14 and misses.

heading to #15 up a stroke.

(missed about a 3' putt on #9 for birdie)

edit: woman's up and drills a 15' birdie putt from the fringe on #15!

Her putting had looked so good the first three days and this season in general. She's really worked on her technique and it showed ... until today. I've only seen the "highlights" so far (watching off the DVR now) but the stroke just blew up on her. Sad.

A testament to how incredible her first two rounds were and also how tough the course setup was today. Not a lot of low numbers on the first page.

was up early this morning with the dog and watched almost all of the final round of the Women's Scottish Open at Dundonald, and a good chunk of it yesterday as well.
i simply enjoy watching links golf, especially from Scotland.

Ayaka Furue started the round four strokes off the lead and subsequently blistered the course to the tune of 31-31=62 (-10), a new course record, and the trophy.
played the four par 5s -1, and had a stretch of six birdies in a row from 6-11 (all fours and threes)
she's not long enough to threaten many par 5s, but she hit damn near every fairway and it seemed like every single one of her approach shots were within 10 feet, half of those within five.
