IMO we will not see another 5 majors winner in our lifetime, that's how hard it is to win a major and how tough the competition is.
I tend to agree with you and also the fact money blinds so many athletes. Look at Rory playing so well and switches his clubs for the money. When you earning that much money at such a young age its difficult to remain focused.

No I don't remember me ever saying anything about Rory ever winning any majors matter of fact I really don't like Rory. I know there will never be another Jack his name turned out to be Tiger and yes never another Tiger his name just might be Jordan. I didn't make this thread just my thoughts about a young 20yr old kid that has all the makings of a superstar golfer. I also think Harris English will have 3 majors in the next 5yrs just my thoughts dude so I think you need to slow the flock down. Never see another 5 major winner in my life LMAO gg ul

There is no way in hell he meets both these goals. Or one of them.

It is going to be so hard to win tournaments during his career. The player pool he faces will be much better than the one we saw just 10 years ago.

Also I think his lack of power off the tee (and accuracy) will keep him from reaching legendary status. He's 157th in total driving and his average drive is "only" 287.5

His iron game looks ridiculous though, as does his short game including bunker play and his putting.

Kuchar is known as a short hitter and averages 282 off the tee yet his total driving he's ranked 85th. Jordan's going to have to hit the tee shot a lot longer, a lot straighter, or both. Luckily, Augusta lets you get away with errant tee shots. Bubba completely outclassed him with the driver Sunday.

He's awesome but let's be a bit more realistic. Back when Rory was dominating, his driver was way longer and way more accurate. He definitely appears to be lacking Jordan's WIM though.

I was surprised to see Spieth listed at 6'1" on the PGA sight. On TV I thought he looked about 5'11". Is he really this tall?

Spieth still very young and is still learning. Plenty of time to improve in the driving category. 50 wins and 8 majors seems pretty absurd though. I'm not saying he cant do it, I just don't think anyone in his right mind bet on him doing that. A much more realistic goal is like 5 majors and 20 wins since that is 1 win every season until he is 40 along with luckboxing a major every 4 years. Seems doable

I'm not really even sure he's "still learning".

He was using the slopes at Augusta like a grizzled veteran. It was remarkable where he was landing his approach shots. And mentally the way he talks about the game and manages the course and himself is also like a wily veteran.

There is still room for him to "learn" to drive the ball straighter and maybe a bit longer but I don't see him finding that extra gear with the driver like Tiger, Phil, or Rory have. He is still young and may fill out more and get some adult strength but we know that doesn't necessarily translate to distance off the tee.

I'm pretty sure Spieth was like top 5 in total driving last year. Too lazy to look it up. The year has barely started. Variance.

Meh, looked it up anyways. T8 in Total Driving and 17th in Ball Striking. Tiger was 17th and 16th and won 5 times.

He said total driving. They add your rank in distance and rank in accuracy then compare it to the other players. For how far he hit it his accuracy was very good last year.

Spieth ranked 8th last year in total driving.

Spieth hits the ball pretty gosh darn straight at least that's the way his swing seems to be built. He's going to be the type of player Matt Kuchar wishes he could be. Always at the top but playing 800 less events and closing a whole lot more.

It appears that this one will be like the Masters for Spieth. He needs to learn how to play down the stretch on the Biggest tournaments such as the MASTERS and the Players.... Kid has game but he will have to learn from these experiences.

I agree he has faltered down the stretch but to compete so young and his first attempts at these courses is amazing

So 2 events is a pattern and not just noise?

It's easy to say he's young and he couldn't handle the pressure at the Masters and here but that's probably a silly jump to conclusion. It could just be noise. And it's a mega small sample size.

It's not even like he faltered at Augusta. Bubba just outplayed him and won.

He's 20 years old, I've said it before he has to learn how to close, once that maturity comes along it'll all be over baby. Not as if he's posting final round 80's and pissing down his leg.

But you could just be making **** up because he's 20 years old. "He needs to learn how to close" isn't even really a thing. It's just a forced narrative because it's easy to come up with. All he had to do was play a little better and have others play a little worse and he would have a couple huge wins this year.

He's already won on tour.

Learning how to close is definitely a thing although it should be phrased more along the lines of learning what the pressure feels like in that scenario. And obviously if he played a little better and others played worse he would have 3 wins. But you can say that about anyone in any tourney so it is a moot point.

The thing I dont like about his win is that he got incredibly lucky and I hate to say it. He holed out on 18 from the bunker which was admittedly hit way too hard and it happened to go in. Also during the playoff, he didnt play great by any means. ZJ and O hearn I think it was both missed fairly easy putts to win with one being like a 5 footer. Spieth also won on the 5th playoff hole I believe with PAR so it isnt like he closed that out well at all.

Spieth is my favorite player on tour and once he figures out how to play well on Sunday, I think it is going to be game over for the tour

ZJ has 11 Tour wins. He's about as "cagey veteran" as you will find in a playoff. But ZOMG Spieth won with just a PAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a birdie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cagey veteran Zach Johnson messed up that's why he won! Oh noes! Zach Johnson must be a huge CHOKER! lol
