I am moving to Virginia , Alexandria area from Australia in the next two months and I’m a very keen golfer who plays twice a week here in Australia. I’m after any info on golf courses in the area and good courses to play . Also can I participate in any competition golf weekly in the areas . I have a handicap of 0-4 . Any info please let me know

I'm down in Williamsburg, VA and can happily report that we have some great golf in the area with very diverse terrain. I'm not super familiar with the Alexandria area but have heard great things about Worthington Manor and Whisky Creek up North of where you're at. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a home course that offers a men's league, typically with some weekly play. LMK if you want to come down and check out some courses in Williamsburg, I play out of The Golden Horseshoe and Williamsburg Golf Club.

Yikes. There are several nice private clubs in the area but the public golf is lacking. If you are willing to go out an hour there are more options. But your best bets are probably going to be East Potomac I'd think
