We'll get Longbow going soon, I promise. I won't be able to get anyone out til probably early April. Next week I'm all booked up (My dad is a teacher and on spring break, so I'm bringing him and his buddies out) and the following week I'm going to Vegas for a Bachelor party.

I never thought I'd say this but I'm actually kind of looking forward to the summer and the hot temperatures. As long as you guys don't mind the heat we could get out at the least 3 times a week during the summer.

Btw, shot under par for the first time in easily 10 years today. 3 putted the first hole, but still shot -1 from the 1 ups on the front 9. Game has gotten exponentially better the last month. Finally started taking lessons again (from Scott Watkins at ASU, dude is legit) and everything is starting to click. Definitely need to improve my putting, but I expect to be playing amateur tournaments within the next 3 months.

KZy - I'm born and raised here so the heat doesn't bother me. Count me in

Sounds good. I'm born and raised here too, but this will be my first summer in like 8 years playing golf, hopefully I adjust quick lol. I remember being a junior walking in 110 degrees and being fine, but now idk. I just know in the summer I will be working less and the course will be WAY less busy. There will be days we could get out in the AM too. Maybe even play 36 quick? you know.

It's super nice to play this time of year, but I brought a 4 some out today and we didn't get to tee off until 4:20pm. Not bad, considering we got 12 holes in, but it really is ridiculous just how busy AZ golf courses are during the prime season.

Yeah I'm a golf snob and not really interested unless I can play 18, I just have that mindset of playing 18 holes or I would rather just chip/putt/drink lolololololoo

I'm in during the hot months. I walk sometimes on the nicer courses in Scottsdale during the summer and every time I get asked "Are you SURE you don't want a cart?" Yeah, I'm sure. I'm a ****in champ.

Where are you guys staying that weekend? I think I'll be at Monte Carlo. Also down to play tomorrow if you guys need another player.

Played persimmon course at anthem today...first time out there somehow. Really enjoyed our round and there was no one out there. Course conditions were about a 8/10 but nothing crazy good. Apparently the ironwood course is a lot better. My buddy works in the shop so prolly will check out ironwood this summer.

Heading to rocky point this weekend with a big group of friends and planning to get a round of golf in. Of course our favorite spot Mayan palace has a tourney so we can't play and apparently las Paloma's has only 9 holes open so it looks like we are going to go check out Laguna del mar across from cholla bay. They only have 9 holes open as well but at least it looks nice and is something new. Any of you guys played it?

Laguna del mar was just okay IMO. It was pretty damn long and hard from the tips at sea level. We had zero chance of reaching the par 5s in 2 and they were only 515-550 yards. Forgot how hard sea level golf is!

Played the pointe yesterday for my birthday and it was in the best shape I have seen in it in a long long time. Fairways and greens were elite IMO.

I'm still down to get a group together maybe next Wednesday or Thursday maybe with kzy at longbow or something else

Happy birthday, Durango!

I took a week off from golf and I'm getting back at it this weekend. Would really like to get together and play somewhere next week.

Anybody played Whirlwind? Which course do you prefer?

Whirlwind is sickkkkk...wide open and fun. Can't go wrong with ether one but I mainly end up playing cattail. It's a grip it and rip it course and if u don't get trolled in the traps off the tee you are good to go

Whirlwind was a nice track. Greens and everything were in good shape. Played the Cattail course, which didn't seem as "grip and rip" to me as Durango suggested. Still pretty generous fairways and a lot of wide landing areas short of fairway bunkers.

Greens were overall tougher to read than average. Shot 41-36 with 5 bogeys on the front and a double and an eagle on the back. Really struggling with ball-striking right now but that's to be expected. Thought I'd be a bit further along right now with swing progress.

Thing that sucks the most is when I have 0 swing thoughts or feels I bomb driver really accurately and with confidence. It's not gone but going through awkward periods isn't fun.

That being said I'd love to get together and play some. Thursdays + Fridays are good for me. Would need advance notice on Wednesdays.

Sorry, but I probably can't get anyone off until the week of 4/13. We have the AJGA event this week, so the course is closed and then the week after I have to go to a friend's wedding.

Also, played the front 9 at Eagle Mountain today. Shot a nice little 41 with a two hole stretch of double then quad on 4 and 5. Definitely feel like my game is coming around though, because I feel like I've been playing my D/F game the last two rounds and I would still be right around 80 from the tips at two hard courses. I've also been hitting some super sick PGA tour quality shots lately that I haven't been able to hit in the last 8-10 years or so. Just need to get a little bit more consistent and eliminate the 2-3 huge misses a round I've been having.

No worries, played Quintero yesterday at 12:30 right when my buddy got off work. Course was super slow yesterday so we flew around in 3:15 which is a miracle there. Shot 38-42 like a troll but course was outstanding as usual. It was pretty breezy up there and greens have really firmed up so really hard to judge some of the elevation shots. Prolly playing talking stick on Thursday and then Aguila Saturday morning

We should still play somewhere if you have the days off. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Looking for somewhere to play this weekend. Thinking Wigwam. Anybody have an idea which course is best, or in the best shape currently?

KZ if you live in the Mesa or east Tempe area maybe we could go play Las Sendas late in the afternoon when their rates drop.

I think I work on Wednesday from 12-7pm, then on Saturday & Sunday same time. So, we should be able to play Thursday if you're down. I'll double check and confirm tomorrow.

Other than that, I've been playing pretty bad lately. I feel a little good though because I've been right around ~40 on the front from the tips my last like six 9's, but every aspect of my game has been terrible.

Thursday is actually looking not good now as my dad asked to help do some work on a rental property and I forgot I have to take my gf to the airport at 5. So I guess I'm only available Friday anytime. I think I have one buddy that can play in the afternoon.

Gotta brag a bit. Had crappy day at work yesterday so I stopped at Starfire on my way home to blow off some steam. Now I don't keep a handicap but I imagine at my best Im a 15? Or so. Played the front 9 even par with 3 birdies. Such a great feeling. Of course I played the back around + 8 or 9 but who's counting.
