Funny, I haven't played Longbow in so long what is now evidently called the 4th and 5th were the 17th and 18th back then. The clubhouse was by what is now the 5th green and was evidently sold for development and a bunch of new holes built on the east side of the property to replace what was lost. Apparently it's every bit as good a course today but that was a great way to finish.
We definitely need to get you out here soon then. They completely redesigned the course in 2003 (I'm fairly positive they only kept 4 of the original holes). #4, the hole you see me hitting driver on with the water left of the fairway and green, used to be #18 on the old design. Super awesome hole and very difficult. #5, the hole with red mountain in the background, I think used to run the complete opposite direction if memory serves me right.
I played the old design many times when I was younger, but the new design is definitely better in my opinion. (also, they switched the nines sometime between 2008-2010, because when I used to work out there back in the day between 2005-2008, our now #4 used to be #13).

I actually only have Tuesday and Wednesday off next week, we have some women's college tournament going on Wednesday-Sunday? (I still think there is public play on those days, but I'm not positive).
Also, I got lucky today and had another guy pick up my shift so I was able to get out and play. Brought my Dad and cousin out and we were able to play the front 9 with local legend Ryan Hogue (dude has been a gateway tour destroyer for years, it's simply ridiculous to me he hasn't made the PGA tour yet, like he holds the record at longbow with a 60, the record at Arizona Golf Resort w/ a 58, and has missed the 3rd stage of q school like 2-3 times by 1 shot, missed the cut at the phoenix open by 1 w/ a 2 day score of -3 with the lowest cut ever, i could go on lol).
My game is definitely coming around. I'm still not ready to compete in amateur tournaments but I feel like every time I go out and play I'm getting better. I've easily gone from about a 15 handicap to about a 3-4 in a month it seems like.
The funny thing is I saw just how far away from a professional golfer I am today. Hogue hurt his back and hasn't played in like 3 weeks and he shot -1 w/ no bogeys (easily could have been -5 on the front, had 3 legit horshoes, and a couple other lip outs), he was hitting his driver a solid 30 yards less because of his back problems and on the last couple holes his back was spasming hard on him.
Super cool dude by the way, most golfers of his level wouldn't play with a couple of hacks like my dad and cousin, but he was having a good time and giving them really solid advice on how to play better. He gave me some really good pointers too. What really struck me is just how awesome his wedge game and putting is. He didn't miss a green, but every time he had a wedge in he pretty much hit it inside 8 feet, and every putt he hit seemed to have almost absolutely perfect speed and just barely lip out. Really would like to see him make the tour in the next couple of years.
Also, took a pic of the 12th hole for you guys:
