Dom, varies.

I work off valley view and di area, so sometimes ill take my sticks into work and head out to calloway after work.

Right now they are hitting off of grass @ the muni, so I have been practicing @ las vegas golf club.

If I work late ill go to desert pines because they close @ 11pm.

and If I want to mix it up i'll go to angel park...it really varies with me.

Oh on the weekends after rounds if i get home and get the urge to go practice again i usually go to badlands to take advantage of their nice greens and grass.

Decent course, well-take care of...greens are true with little break most of the time...the course from the back tees is fairly challenging, but if you hit a straight ball there really isn't much trouble to get into. Cute cart girls. Decent price for locals after 2pm ($35)

I played it at the start of April in the wind, still enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

Can anyone reccomend a good plce for lessons/instuctor in Vegas that's not too expensive?

Depends on your definition of expensive, I guess. I go to a guy named Don Callahan who works at the Butch Harmon School (http://www.butchharmon.com/index.php) who I think is great. The facilities are amazing, too. They will definitely get you in a hitting bay and record your swing with a few high-def cameras on the first lesson. However, his rate is $130/hour, which is pretty expensive, but most golf instruction is around $80/hour anyway, and probably half those guys are worthless imo because they don't use vid feedback (it's pretty hard to tell exactly what is going on in the swing with the naked eye) and they just stand behind you and give you generalized golf swing cliches for half an hour. Just a thought.

Lozen, let me know if you need someone to play with on Friday, Monday or Wednesday. Also, Arroyo course at Red Rock CC is a damn good deal and a very nice course.

Back from Vegas and Thought give a review on all the Courses

Played 36 holes on Friday at Badlands Total cost for 36 $101 Course was in excellent condition and played all 3 tracks.

Saturday we played Rhodes Ranch for $56 and again immaculate condition
Sunday was Tuscany for $56. Course was very nice but greens had recently been dressed so not at their premium

Monday 36 Holes at Pauite and Lunch for $169 We were able to play Wolf the second 18. Very windy but course was immaculate and empty. Drove a 289 yard par 4 and 3 putted for a par. Island green on Wolf like the Players was tough in a 30 MPH wind. Clubhouse lunch was our best meal of the whole trip and we spent $400 on dinner at the steak house at the Red Rock.

Tuesday Off

Wednesday we played Wildhorse for $42 and it was Ok but no GPS and course lacked yardage markers. Consensus was this was the worst course and would not play it again.

I took Thursday off but my buddies returned to Rhodes Ranch for $56.

Overall our average green fee was $58 as tourists a hell of a deal Weather was great other than the Windy and cloudy day at Pauite.

We realize that we have played most of the courses in Vegas that are affordable and next year palm springs

Primm Valley is $35 for locals on weekdays right now. Played 27 holes there Thursday with a buddy of mine. He aced #11(216 yds with a 20mph crosswind)on the desert course for his first hole in one after playing for 10 years.

Both courses are in great shape, the practice facility is awesome, and they are not busy at all. Definitely worth the drive.

We were looking at it but they wanted $80 and $110 for tourists. It was on Golf Now but dissapeared when we arrived in Vegas

Tried to go golfing today with my dad and brother who are out of towners. The place I normally play at was asking $90/round so I looked on golfnow and it looked like most places were asking $70/round and we couldn't tee off for a couple hours. I finally just did a google search for "golf" near where I lived and found Durango Hills where we could get on for $35, so we headed down there.

Probably should have read more, as when we were getting in our carts we looked at the scorecard and saw it was a par 58.

For a mainly par 3 course (there were four fairly short par 4s) it was nice. Well maintained and some fairly challenging holes (read: lots of sand). I'll probably go again when I'm looking for a shorter round.

Yeah last minute on Golf Now isnt great. You need to get the e-mail deals and grab them 4-5 days in advance. Golf Now isnt as great as it used to be. Though with all the advertising they have done more people are using it. As for Vegas that is.

One trick I used is book on golf Now a 1 03 2 PM tee time and later call the course and mover the Tee Time up. Worked every time Once had a 1:58 and moved it to 8:08

Played Paiute on Wednesday with 2+2ers JShuttlesworth and GaryStevenson...great course, but I was all over the place...hit some good shots though. 46-43-89

Today I played Badlands for the first time (Outlaw/Diablo) and really enjoyed it...very nice, challenging course. Incredibly picturesque, too. For some reason I played well...started off with 5 straight pars and had one birdie on the way to a best-in-a-long-time score of 40-41-81. Not sure where it came from, but I'll take it!
