Hey guys,
going to vegas next week, looking at a couple different courses, and I'd appreciate some recommendations.
Golfing with the girlfriend, and we are both beginners.
Course we are considering:
Tuscany - Probably leading right now, a lot of good comments in this thread, also has gps which gf hasn't seen yet.
Rhodes Ranch
Siena - Also had some good comments in this thread I think

also, if anyone has other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Painted Desert is short and pretty forgiving IMO, might be good for you as "beginners". Rhodes is also pretty easy, not a lot of forced carries (but longer).

If you want something different, try Callaway at night. It's a short 9 hole par 3 just off the strip that's lit. The weather will be nice and it's easy and enjoyable to walk. When I play I leave half my clubs in the car and just carry wedges up to 7 iron. The longest hole is around 160.

I used to take my gf (beginner) as a cheap laidback "datenight". Plus she always liked it because it was much easier than a full length course. Take some golf balls though, there is a fair amount of water.

I'm contemplating going in November to Advantage Golf school which is at the Revere Golf Club.

Anyone have info on golfing this time of year?

Is it generally warm enough to golf around Vegas over the Christmas/New Years period?

Plotting a bachelor party sometime in the last 2 weeks of March... recommendations for a good course to get the desert golf experience, while playing with beginners, without getting raped for greens fees & rental clubs during that time? It'll probably be a small group, 4-6 players max.

I may also sneak out a few days early to play myself, if any locals are interested in a meet up?

If you have car rental I like Tuscany. Nice course for all levels. Otherwise check with your hotel they may be able to setup a Limo and everything.

Tip to you dont tell the course it is a bachelor party.

Damn, Angel Park is my home course.

FYI, there is something called Golffest at Angel Park this weekend.

Going to Vegas for March Madness. Three of us from out of town are coming, and meeting up with a 4th who lives in Vegas. We want to find courses to play where we have the best chance of getting on at the Resident Rate. They don't need to be awesome courses....but at least "pretty nice" would be good. We'll probably be golfing weds/thurs/fri, and not the weekend, if that matters.

Any suggestions?

I saw Badlands is no longer managed by Troon Golf. Has this adversely affected the conditions of the courses?

Ill let you know in May Still one of our favorites. Plus you can snag a morning tee time for $55 and play another 18 for $50.

i went out there to practice today and the putting green / driving range were in pristine condition.

cannot speak for the course itself tho.

how did the new greens take, I left LV as they were starting the project

sry dont know, just practiced there. putting green was wonderful though.

We went to Badlands late in afternoon(3:30pm) last spring and paid some ridiculous price like $40. My sister in law is a resident , went up there and haggled for us fwiw.

Surfing golfnow since I'm up late looking at places to play. Anyone ever play either palm valley or highland falls @ summerlin or Aliante? I don't remember them at all.

The rest of my party, golfing wise, bailed on me. So if anyone wants to play, I'm game! Will be there 3/30 - 4/4. I arrive in the AM, so I plan to go from airport to course.

palm valley and highland falls are not worth the out of town rate.

they're not bad, just not what you're looking for in a course out here.

pm me when you get in and ill go hit balls with you if you like. i dont think ill be able to play tho, (im a weekend warrior, have a committed group then :[)

Yeah I played both nothing special. Alliante I do remember as being not to bad.

im playing primm valley tomorrow anyone played there? the rates go from 125 to 45 at 230 so im guessng its decent to be charging 125 am i wrong? also want to play saturday any suggestions?

If your driving out to Primm Valley instead drive out to Mesquite and Play Wolf Creek.


If you do drive to Primm Courses are nice and great Outlet mall there to.

Also 125 is pretty standard for good courses. You can get TPC for $125
