Only got 4 rounds in this trip

Played Tusacny and Rhodes both overseeded so mediocre

Made the Drive to Coyote Springs. Not sure why you build a golf course in the middle of no where?? Very nice but no GPS and no 150 yard markers which i hate. Nice to have a target of the tee. Tough course great shape and only $50

Player Boulder Creek first time also and enjoyed.

Heading out with a group and we are playing the following:

Southern Highlands
TPC Las Vegas (only one I've played)
Spanish Trail
Dragon Ridge

Anybody played any of these besides TPC...how are they?

Loved dragon ridge. It's a short course and a little goofy in layout (not a ton of drivers off the tee) but varied and in really good shape. How the heck did you get onto southern highlands?

Mini TR:

Southern Highlands: Really really good, not public, had no idea how nice it was going to be.

TPC Las Vegas: Solid course, conditions a little rough due to overseeding (as was the case with the next two as well). Not super memorable but a good solid course imo.

Spanish Trail: Private club now somewhat open to public. Course was ok, felt a little dated, worst condition of the trip

DragonRidge: Pretty cool, another private club now somewhat open to public. Very interesting layout (with a few goofy holes #10), surrounding landscape was wild, black rock hills everywhere. Overall liked the course, clubhouse, etc...

Fun trip, looking forward to going back.

Overseeding can leave you with a bad feeling on a course. I liked spanish trail other than there dumb policy of no cash for the beer cart and the rude staff

Does anyone know any courses that are down in the valley that have monthly practice facility passes? I'm a member at Paiute, but it gets so cold and windy up there that I may need another option for the next 4 months. I tried LV National, but no luck. I know Sienna has one, but being up in Summerlin I'd assume it can get pretty cold and windy there as well. FWIW I live just east of the strip, LVCC would be ideal but alas it is private.

So far found programs at Sienna, Desert Rose, and LV golf Club. The muni seems logical as it is situated low in the valley and has plenty of tree coverage. I know the facilities are meh at best but I'm so sick of 38 degrees and 15mph winds at 8am.

Can anyone give me some pointers as there is such a wealth of information on here. We are heading to Vegas in february from the Caribbean for the Vegas 7's rugby and would like to fit in 3 rounds of golf hopefully.

What we are looking for is really in 2 parts, the first is a recommendation for somewhere for a group of roughly 16 of us to play. We've all golfed before but there are varying abilities so we arent looking for a tough course and ideally it would also be on the reasonable price, not too far from the strip scale as well.

A couple of us who are the better golfers would like to try out a couple of other courses and dont have any real restrictions on these so anyones thoughts would be welcome so that we can do some more research. More what peoples favourite places to play if you had the chance.

Thanks

Will you have transportation at all? For the big group pick Las Vegas National as close to strip

We are really open for the other rounds but would probably rule out a mission of a drive.

We have at least a serious 4 ball who can play who want to play some decent courses. Our local is 2 hr journey using ferry, taxi and everything else so we miss our golf fix.

What i would say is play Tuscany with the 16 of you It is a gorgeous layout and will suit all the golfers. Though will be a 30 minute cab ride each way but 4 to a cab.

For the serious players go play Badlands Target golf and very nice. If you have 4 of you that can get a rental make the drive to Mesquite and play Wolf Creek You will never regret it. Bali Hai is on the strip but pricey Never played there

Heading to Vegas for the week christmas-new years. Thinking of bringing my clubs.
Anyone want to recommend course <$200 that a single can get into for a round. Thinking of playing 2-3 rounds if I bring my clubs. Will have rental car to get around.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Sign up for Golf Now's daily e-mails. They will send you deals about five days in advance. You can get some great rates about $50 for some nice courses

Play Badlands, Coyote Springs and if your up fopr a 70 minute drive play Wolf Creek in Mesquite

I looked and they had Badlands at $40.00 Coyote Springs at $40 and TPC at $119 Coyote Springs is an hour out but a treat also. I like Tuscany as well at $40

Thanks Lozen,
Would it be much colder @ Coyote Springs that it is in Vegas? I see the temp is lower than average right now.
Also any comment on TPC Las Vegas, is it public? Worth the extra few dollars?
Goggle Earth tells me that Mesquite is about 1 1/2 hour drive. Not sure I will do that this time of year.
Thanks in advance.

Well its cold there anyways Not sure how much colder be out there. It is a great course in the middle of nowhere and dead.

I love TPC but badlands may be a better value for the buck. All my buddies Love Badlands

first time in vegas next weekend 13th-16th, want to stay near hotel (mandalay) and play, from the looks of things looks like desert pines and royal links are good options (unless i actually read this entire thread and find a reason to the contrary why i shouldnt play either) - will be booking as a single, early-midmorning - if anyone wants to join up or needs a fourth (im a 13, will gamble) - let me know

Overpriced. Though I do like Desert Pines. Though played it only once and in a scummy section of town and a dog crossed one fairway with two needles sticking out of it. No Lie. Very Tight. I am not a fan of Walters Golf Courses at all

We're staying at Aria for 10 days in Feb. and want to do a flight somewhere, 2 of us play regularly in Holland and have a golfing permit? But dont have an official handicap registered, and the other two just want to play for fun on the same flight.

Where should we go, do they have decent clubs there and the amount u pay, is it per person or per flight you book?

Tnx guys

I am assuming a flight is a round. Most of the courses have really nice rentals for anywhere from $30-$50 a round.
