Oh wow Spanish Trail is semi-public now I guess. You may have to scratch everything I said about that then.

Me and some friends are going to LV from England for 5 days in September, we are looking to play 1 round whilst we are there, which would be the best place to go?
-I'm a 3 handicap, other 3 are mid twenties so difficulty isn't a huge problem
-Price range ideally would be <$200 each
-we would need to hire clubs
- we are staying at Caesar's and don't have a car so cab ride can't be THAT long.

thanks

Wow if you have the time I would rent a car and drive an hour out to Mesquite and play Wolf Creek.

If just by cab some of the locals might be able to tell you best place to play for that amount.

Myself I like TPC for about $125-$150 Though cab ride would be $50 each way

i got all excited about playing Wolf Creek from the photos on the website only to see the exact dates we will be there the course is closed for overseeding...so sick.

+ Bali Hai could end up quite a lot with club hire, carts and forecaddy, don't know whether the others would appreciate it, looks like an awesome course though!

Badlands is another choice. Bali Hai so expensive

Paid $100 each for Bali Hai through Golfnow a couple weeks ago, that included carts but not clubs, forecaddy unnecessary / pointless expense imo.

really??? im sure ill get flamed for this but IMO the layout of vegas national is twice as interesting/challenging as bali hai for half the cost (both equidistant from the wynn/venetian). Note: im old school.

Didn't play vegas national, but I played 15+ different courses in vegas this summer at various pricepoints and I thought for the $100 each we paid at Bali Hai it was well worthwhile. I'm sure there are better value courses, didn't know vegas national was close proximity to Wynn. Obviously he should just gamble hard in the pits at Wynn and play there.

If you gamble hard at the Wynn, just play at the Wynn ... Which is the nuts on the strip. (they will comp u for 100 hand avg. 4 hours)

Any certain store to stop at to check out new/used clubs. I just tried to go over to the Las Vegas Golf by Hard Rock and found out it has become the new home for Destination XL or something? Just looking for a place that has a large variety of companies etc.

I'm playing "TPC Vegas" on Sunday. I put it in quotes because I know shocking little about this course, and am just confused as I google stuff. I see "TPC" listed with

Vegas
Summerlin
Canyons

Are these all the same course? Are they all different? Any general thoughts on the course that is most likely being referred to as "TPC Vegas"?

Thanks,

Josh

Golf Galaxy is good, although it's hit-and-miss when it comes to used stuff.

Sports Chalet has a small new section but a decent (at least bigger then GG the one time I went to both) section of used stuff.

I believe TPC Canyons was renamed TPC Las Vegas.

Yea this is definitely correct. The house we rented during WSOP was right up there near this course and I never saw any mention, signage, anything for "TPC Summerlin" so I am assuming all 3 are the same place. If there really is a secret TPC Summerlin that's different than TPC Las Vegas I will be sad

Prepare to be sad: TPC LV used to be called TPC Canyons, it's the public TPC and much ****tier (still a nice course though) than the super exclusive TPC Summerlin, which is where Ivey, et al play, and where they have the PGA tournament in October.

TPC Summerlin is real close to me, so it def exists.

Ah well if its not public then I don't care anyway, and if it public and costs more than like $150 a round I don't care that much. TPC las vegas was pretty nice I thought, so I'm sure its incredibly nice.

lozen your golf plan looks awesome, though personally I'd just play 18 at badlands (ask for desperado and diablo) and 18 at bears best instead of 36 at badlands. I played both paiute snow and wolf this summer and I thought snow was the more interesting of the two, didn't play sun but hear I already hit the best two.
