Hi, heading to Vegas on a stag from UK. There is 4 (or possibly 8) of us looking to play golf on Friday the 18th of October. Few quick questions:

Essential info: We're all decent but not great golfers (10hc average) and we'll be looking to gamble it up. We'll all be hungover, we won't have transport. We'll be staying on the strip - but not booked anywhere yet.

1) Can anyone make a few suggestions on where we should play?

2) Will we get round OK at that time of year if we take up one of the after 2 twilight deals?

Any tips or advice would be great thanks.

You guys are lugging clubs all the way from the UK just to play one round? Think about talking to that sexy shipsticks girl.

Instead of bringing clubs call shipsticks and see if you can rent the girl.

Sorry forgot to say no sticks. Will just take rentals.

Guys can someone with any experience please input. Any clear favorite between Bali Hai or the Paulie resorts with the 2 or 3 courses (or even possibly Desert Creek).

Mainly is the distance between the first two from the strip much? Is there anything major in value?

Bali Hai is on the south end of the strip, Pauite is about 30-35 min from the strip.

never played Bali Hai, but pretty sure Pauite would be a better golfing experience.

idk what desert creek is

Pauite is a better golf experience, for sure...cheaper, too

never played bali...though dom posted an excellent hole by hole review, w pics. worth checking out.

desert creek....do you mean this course? http://primmvalleygolf.com/, or perhaps this course; https://www.coyotesprings.com/...or perhaps this one; http://www.golfbouldercity.com/

pauite, primm valley, coyote springs, boulder creek, are all excellent in their own way. Dom and I had the option to play any one of them during my last trip and each day we ended up choosing Coyote Springs.

Paiute is best option IMO. I have only played Wolf but it was fun. The guys I played with took a cab out there for something redic like $70. They were looking at Uber on way back and it was like $30. I took em back for free as I was staying near their hotel.

I really like it. Pace of play can be glacially slow but I guess that's the case anywhere. The houses sit above the elevation of the fairway and have compacted sand/rock hill up to them. The good thing about that is if you hit it up there the ball rolls down to the rough. Kinda neat.

I haven't but my boss and his daughter played in some invite tourney there last week. he said it was kind of cool but wouldn't spend the $35 green fee to play there again.

What are some of the cheaper course annual memberships in the area and what do they run?

Have a bachelor party going Thursday through Sunday next week. We are looking at playing golf. Would be about 8 of us, a couple terrible golfers, one good one, and the rest decent.

If we play, looking for something relatively cheap w/ rentals that may not be super busy. Any recommendations?

First week of March, you won't find either of these things in Las Vegas.

Rentals are common everywhere.

others who have made similar posts seem to have enjoyed Bali Hai and Las Vegas National Golf Course, which are both easy to get to from the Strip.

That makes sense. Thank you I’ll look into those.

hi, hoping people can help. thinking of going to nevada for next week's march madness........

not a fan of vegas strip but would probably be making my way down there once no matter where i stay.

how would people rate staying in outlying vegas, laughlin, mesquite?.. and don't laugh, primm, jean, pahrump etc.... i realize some of those latter places are really small but i wouldn't be looking to go off property locally alot no matter where i stay (except golf). and these places can be seriously cheap.

what am i looking for? sort of the old vegas strip "desert inn" type experience. i like the idea of golf, dining, casino, sports betting, pool etc. being tightly packed together and easy to navigate. i don't like the crowdedness, rip-off feeling of the vegas strip. but i will have a car and will go to strip once when i'm there (wherever that is)....

also, are any reasonably quality golf courses within the vegas metro area really really crowded?

thx..... basically looked for relaxed old casino experience.. golf course doesn't need to be on property. also, 2.5 stars minimum. preferably 3 stars.

two last vegas questions....

does vegas have on-season vs. off-season in terms of hotel prices? or is it uniformly quite busy but never overrrun like palm springs in-season?

are there really expensive small periods in vegas? new year's eve? massive conferences? although i notice that COMDEX (huge computer show) is either no more or scaled way way down. used to be enormous turnout
