some really good **** scattered throughout the forum regarding golf club fitting. I made an appointment last june but ended up blowing it off, thus i have no experience to share. however Im pretty sure that i need some adjustment on almost all clubs except the 567 irons which seem to do whatever i tell them.

i have titleist driver and 3 wood that are equipped with adjustable hozel that has 16 unique configuratons by adjusting lie angle and loft. (4x4 possiblilities). I think i want to be better at fnding the clubface with driver before getting fitted as ive only taken about 20 real shots with the new driver and havent been to the range with it yet.

so, post your fitting experience and expertise here please, so we may all learn about the topic. thanks.

If you need one of your irons adjusted then you need them all adjusted lol. You can check this for yourself. Just look at the face of your irons and see what direction the dirt line runs. Go to the link to see what I mean.

You can set up with your irons and have someone take a picture of you down the target line. You want the toe slightly off the ground at address because it will toe down at impact.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

My fitting I booked 3 months ago at the advice of this thread is Wednesday! Can't wait!

Can they fit an existing club? I hit one club near perfect and extremely consistently, my 4h. Am I going to have to turn that club in and buy a new one that is fitted? That makes me nervous lol.

lol, the way you describe how you hit that 4h it's going to take something really special to replace it. Besides, aren't you being fit for irons? If the fitter suggests you replace the 4h with a long iron you're with the wrong fitter.

What Booker said.

When the time comes, you’ll almost certainly be getting an additional Ping hybrid and Ping fairway woods because their unique sole seems to agree with you. You can always experiment with different but similar shafts to see if you can do even better.

Enjoy the process.

Well I want to go as I as hybrids go for my new irons which was suggested to me in this awesome forum. I think some hybrids go up to 6 so I'd like to get 3h-6h in hybrids form.

my buddy plays all hybrids. he has zero swing speed. and when i say all hybrids i'm pretty sure his wedges are hybrids.

It's almost time for me to get another fitting. Currently playing a Callaway Rogue with AD BB 7x. Would like to check out all the new toys. I would schedule one soon but I really don't want to get fitted and not have it ready for my Vegas trip in < 3 weeks.

Hybrids are good but if you are hitting them better than your irons then there is a problem with the swing. I'm not saying they are bad, but just saying that if you are hitting them better than say a 7-iron, something is off with the swing.

If you were fit for your clubs before you probably don't need to get one anyway if you are worried about having them in time for LV. Unless you made some drastic changes to your swing or you had a growth spurt then it really shouldn't change too much. It doesn't hurt though if they don't charge for it but it's not like an oil change or something you have to keep doing. What courses are you going to play in LV?

I actually fit myself last time. I know a good deal about clubs, one of my hobbies. I did a whole bag fitting about 2.5 years ago. Fitter looked at what I had and said you did pretty good, no changes needed.

Playing:

Cascata x2
Wolf Creek
Rio Secco
4th course TDB, likely Bali Hai or TPC Las Vegas. Needs to be close to town as this is before returning flight.

I would say those are excellent choices. Have you played any of them before? Cascata is nice but really expensive, Rio Secco I used to work at and is probably my favorite course and I would recommend TPC Las Vegas over Bali Hai. Bali Hai is poorly conditioned, it gets beat down, and isn't worth the high green fee imo. TPC Las Vegas is really nice and in great shape.

I have played all except for Bali Hai before. Thanks for the tip, TPC Las Vegas it is.

I'm gonna miss you by a few weeks Scott. I get into town on 6\15 and am planning on Wolf Creek, Paiute, and hopefully 1 more. Played Bali Hai back in January and had a good time. Wasn't blown away by the course though not disappointed. I walked it with a caddie(free outside the $100+tip) and that added to the experience.

Edit: as mentioned above it's definitely overpriced based on what you get, but not absurdly so.

Lol, I did not. Thought about it, but decided on an actual caddy instead. The parmates did look fun though.

They are also a good source for information about what to do in Las Vegas after your round of golf, giving you information about the hottest clubs, newest restaurants and best shows, shopping and more!"

Fitting was awesome today.

Added an inch and a half to my club length.

Went with ping 4h + 6h
Callaway 7i-sw

No 5 for now. Just bought my ping 4h last year and it's my best club by far so kind of tough to drop $300 on a brand new one but I know it's the long game big picture. $1600 out the door for everything

Fitting day is like Christmas, you get to play with all the toys.

And then when you get your new clubs it's like Christmas all over again, except with only the very best toys.

Glad you enjoyed it.

An inch and a half long on your clubs? Wow. That's a pretty significant change and I will be interested to see just how much your game improves as a result of having the right clubs.
