How many big name pros are going to want Hank Haney to be their coach if he is sharing this kind of dirt about the biggest named pro of the last decade+ ?

i dont know any who would want hank at all. i thought it was stupid when he left butch. i liked his butch move the best.

I believe he is done coaching pros. He says in the book that he knew Tiger would be his last touring pro student the moment he was hired.

Haney comes off looking pretty bad here. Does he really need to write this tell all book? With his Golf Channel show and all the notoriety he got from being Tiger's coach the guy should be set. I'm not interested in the gossip really.

Why not he was not contractually limited from writing a book. Tiger is a master at trying to control everything about his life that he forgot about this. It is all about the money and nothing more. Same reason why Tiger chooses Dubai over the PGA

Greed and pride. That's the only explanation. Stevie Williams came across the same way. Like him or not, Tiger made these guys very wealthy and very famous (more than they would have been without, even if they were already wealthy). That should be enough. Maybe they don't like Tiger's attitude or ego or whatever, but come on, there's a better way to use what was given to you to make more money. Stevie can parlay his success with tiger into caddying for the best players in the world for the rest of his life and making more millions of dollars. Why can't that be enough? He could also get some sponsorship deals I'm sure. Haney gets a television show, sponsorships, teaching aids to sell, instructional videos to sell, television appearances, more coaching deals with the best players, and a lot of rich people willing to pay him thousands for hours of coaching time. Seems like a good deal.

I'm not defending Haney at all, I'm just pointing out that its not hard to understand his motivations.

Please explain to me how I am trolling. You are saying he is so bad and that he has enough money yet Tiger can take a endorsement from a heat rub company shortly after his sex scandal. So tiger can make as much cash as he wants but Hank cant. If Tiger had a brain he would have contractually limited Hank from writing a book. Maybe if he offered him a popsicle Hank would not have written the book

What if this book ruins him, he loses his show and no one wants to work with him anymore? Sure, he will make a ton of money from the book, but at some point there had to be a little bell going off in his head that he is painting the most popular golfer in the world in a negative light and that could have severe repercussions in an industry where he makes his money.

Is he trying to change the world's perception of Tiger? I think Tiger did that himself when a new girlfriend came out of the woodwork every day for 13 days. Now Hank wants to pile on? I hope you make 8 digits Hank, but I also hope you lose your show so I don't have to see your dumb ass on TV anymore.

And for the record, I am a Phil guy, NOT a Tiger guy.

Am not for any particular player. I just like to watch good golf. I agree though. This is short sited. I don't think it's going to matter much to the industry, but it will matter to him in the future. Seems like he's trading some short term cash (which is probably a lot considering the topic) for long term earnings. I'm sure he'll still do fine with his teaching, but maybe some high ranking pros will think twice in the future. If he doesn't care about his reputation among the pros or the public in general then maybe it's not a big deal for him.
