considering the condition that his body is in, his lack of discipline, his whining, and the further his body is going to fall apart now that he is off the juice, it's gonna be another sorry ass year for all those fanbois. good riddance.

The de riguer Tiger hating was once cool and somewhat deserved. Now it's just sad and piling on. No one wants to see that.

Awesome interview. I've gone through love-hate periods with Tiger, and this puts me back closer to loving him again. This certainly humanizes him, which I'm sure is why his publicist had him do it.

One of the best things in there, that I can relate to, is his love of playing in the evenings. There's nothing better to me than practicing by myself, walking the back 9 of my home course with the bag on my back at 8pm in July, in the middle of the woods, no one around. I've loved that about golf since I started, and I still love it today. If you want peaceful perfection, there it is.

Love the fact Tiger showed up for a practice round at Augusta wearing shorts with out realizing that no shorts are allowed there.

They probably have that rule because no one wants to look at the pasty old chicken legs on most of the members.

Enjoyed the Time article and while I'm "sure" that he's not being outright deceitful I feel pretty confident that he's selling mostly bull ****.

I would imagine he does have real doubts and these comments come from a real place but what I don't believe is that his feelings on the topic have shifted that hard and are that myopic. It just seems like a campaign to temper expectations, mostly media expectations.

With respect to golf, the only thing that he would rather do more than be on top again, is to give his critics nothing to criticize.

He admits to telling his children he ****ed up his marriage, he claims the jack poster on his wall was not about 18 majors, he talks endlessly about his love of being a father, he all but says he's "done" competing, he talks about his great friendship with his ex-wife, his amicable break up with lindsey vonn, the lessons he's learned along the way, blah blah.

Obviously I have my own biases as a fan, but how have none of the "haters" pointed this out yet. We are all of the sudden going to take what he says to the media at face value.

As he mentions also, his kids are reaching an age where googling daddy is going to be a thing and if I were him I would have a strong urge to change the conversations about me online.

It's perfectly possible to be at the geographic center of a forest and also be in a clear area, e.g. fairway.
