I've been hovering around a 15-16 handicap the last few weeks (down from 24 at the start of the year), but lately I've been putting alot into a glass jar in my living room and I have been increasing my chipping time in my backyard. I plan on getting a dog so I don't have to blow money at the range and I can just hit the balls into a wide open field with the dog chasing them and bringing them back. The cost benefits (free) should increase my practice time significantly. I shot 41 a few times in 9 holes so I'm only a few strokes away there from par. I made an 8 handicap move in one year, so I should be able to get to scratch in 2 years and hopefully make the tour in 2013-2014. Within 5 years I think I might have a realistic shot of making (and winning) the Masters.

I'll keep you all updated.

I believe you over estimate your ability considerably. Or under estimate how good the pros really are. I play off 1-4 handicap over the last decade and a half and would never consider saying this.

Well he came down 8 strokes in one year and you stayed stagnant for 15. Still I agree. I doubt he makes the top 5 before 2017.

Well I have a buddy who knocked 3 strokes off his handicap by chipping into a laundry hamper in his back yard for two weeks straight. I was thinking you PM your address and I ship the basket and am in for $250 if you win the masters.

You may want to wait until you're a +1 to use it though since those are the hardest strokes to knock off your handicap it should be a sick edge to get 3 at that point.

Just ordered one of these. With 50 extra yards at 14 drives a round, it should be worth 3-5 strokes a round, no?

You should be developing your Hammer warcry while you wait for it to arrive to further increase the added distance. ez game.

You just need to reassess your course management philosophy centering on finding the drivable par 5's and I think you're right.

you're def selling yourself short here. you're on pace to be a +16 within 4 years which is good enough to be almost guaranteed to win the masters. obv that's assuming you don't have any injuries or any other setbacks.
