My sister-in-law asked me to find a find a new set for her husband's 40th birthday in three weeks. He's only been playing one year, is about 5-9, stocky, and isn't very good (yet). She wants to spend less than $500 and it has to be new. Any sites to recommend? I looked at Amazon and found the Adams Tight Lies for $399, which seemed like an OK starter set.

She wants a complete starter set, like 5-9 irons, PW, SW, Driver, putter and a hybrid or two. I got a similar set when I started out a year ago and it's been fine for me, but I probably paid too much in Golfsmith.

I'm looking at the Adams Tight Lies 112 for $399 on Amazon with free shipping. That's comparable to what I bought myself, but can I do better for the money? Is that set any good for a beginner?

That set looks fine, $400 seems a little much though. Decent complete sets are tough to find however.

Selling a custom painted Scotty Cameron Squareback putter. Its painted white and orange. Had it sent in to Lamont to get it done. Looks awesome but does show wear. Its 35 inches long and has a white golf pride grip. I will post pics if there is interest but usually there isnt interest in golf clubs here. Asking 150 and cant accept poker site as a payment. Titleist AP2 710 irons 3-pw "Tour issue" DG s400 shafts +0.5 and 1* up
Newish (7 rounds?) iomic black with red cap grips

will have pics but I would rate them a 7 out of 10, not perfect by any means but tons of play left in them.

$600 for the set is a good deal IMO....$125+ in grips, $250+ in shafts, $1000 new...I am only owner of this set. I will pay shipping.
